Calm Spirit needs a buff, it got done dirty in the perk rework
Title says pretty much all. The perk got done really dirty when they "buffed" it. Being silent while opening chests, cleansing or blessing totems is pretty cool and a fun interaction, but the speed penalty makes it so much worse than it was before. I'd much rather just not scare crows and not scream than do silent actions at a 35% reduced speed.
I used to run the perk occasionally because of Doctor and Infectious Fright, it was fun because it countered very decent killers who don't use too many information perks and would rather use base mechanics like crows to detect survivors, but since I'm an avid totem cleanser (screw boons) and a loot goblin (gimme that basement chest), this perk became a MUST AVOID for me. Which is quite sad, because if Behavior had just added the silent actions and did nothing else, it would have been an interesting buff that would make me run the perk much more often.
Anyways what do you all think?

I saw the word "Spirit" and clicked mindlessly. Anyway, I don't understand why the devs gave the perk that downside when it still wouldn't even be good without the downside. It was such a weird change.

I still can't believe they had the audacity to call it a buff.

What i don't understand is why they reverted MoM back to F-tier when most people said it was weaker and didn't do it with perks like calm spirit that actually got weaker

Did they nuke MoM again? Last I saw it, it only took 2 protection hits and didn't get removed on conspicuous actions.

They reverted the change
It's bassically like it was with 3 protection hits and no endurance attached
Most people who probably never played MoM to begin with are probably happy with
I though 2 protection hit MoM was so much better

Damn, BHVR. Almost tricked me into running MoM again.

It depends on the situation, sometimes it is a buff, sometimes it is a nerf.

In almost every situation, it's a nerf. You have no reason to be doing totems or chests next to a killer, so all you're doing is slowing yourself down for free.

It doesn't even need a buff, just revert it back. Pre-rework you'd get the intended value out of it while still being able to participate in game objectives. Now you get the intended value but get penalised for participating in game objectives. They hilariously call that a buff lol

This is from another thread where i came up with a few key game scenarios where it is a buff
OKI don't love playing super stealth that is where I'm coming from here as a player.
And while I agree for a totem that's just out in the open this would be a Nerf however If the totems in a place where the killer can't always easily have line of sight on it Being able to cleanse it silently means you're less likely to be interrupted so those extra seconds may or may not matter.
So here's a couple of examples of where this is clearly a Buff, let's say you're going against Devour hope and you've already cleansed undying so it's gone you find Devour hope. Killer is chasing someone that kind of come in range and doesn't get line of sight on you but he hears you cleansing devour hope he might drop Chase and go after you and interrupt you if he can't hear you hes not gonna drop Chase for you you might still get the cleanse. To this You might say well he won't hear me over the Chase music OK fine maybe here's another example.
Killer gets a discordance proc Walks within range of hearing his Totem cause he wants to go after the guys on the Generator But he is making sure his Devour hope is still OK But he here's your cleansing So instead he goes after you cleansing the totem instead of the guys on the generator. Not with calm spirit. Still not enough.
OK let's do another one, End game situation there's a hatch offering hatch is gonna be at main building killers gonna get there 1st you are near shack and a Door Both doors are close together so it's gonna be tough to win the door battle And basement is in shack You hit the chest in basement to try and get a key while the killer's doing his patrol He's not gonna hear you opening that chest, You get a key and you get Hatch.
The point here is yes sometimes it will be seen as a nerf but there are also times where the extra stealth is going to be a buff.
Stealth costing speed is also already a common factor, don't want to leave scratch marks walk, slower, Want to avoid hag traps or trail of torment Crouch walk, Slower, Is hide in a locker or vault without making a sound, Slower.

The key word is sometimes.
The situation where a killer checks on his hex, doesn't hear it being worked on, and leaves while you're cleansing it with Calm Spirit is going to be far, far rarer than just cleansing it while he's far away. Or it's out in the open where he can just see you. Or he's not even bothering to guard it. Or it's something he wants cleansed.
The very niche scenarios where it's useful don't make up for the fact that it's actually straight-up worse than running nothing in every other situation.

I did say sometimes, not always. But there are lots more times i have had it come up pretty clutch for me getting chests or totems i wouldnt have gotten without it, cleansing dull totems to stop NOED, opening chests to get a late game medkit i needed. The speed reduction isnt really that noticeable to me.

Are these things you wouldn't have been better doing away from the killer?
And cleansing every totem to get rid of NOED preemptively, WITH calm spirit, just sounds like giving the killer a whole lot of free game delay.

Alot of them i was doing away from the killer and then the killer came by and didn't hear me.
The noed cleansing is more in games your already winning but its still funny
