So my mate wanted to try DBD and we met Bubba

Friend was caught first, Leatherface proceeded to camp the hook at the very start of the match. It's nothing unusual for most of you. But then I told my pal "That's it. This was your match." He's a hot head, impulsive lad and right away asked if there's a chat after I explained him the situation.

So this is what experience for new players look like ? How many potential customers are already lost and how many will be, because of ignorance and reluctance to fix core issues ? But since a few new IPs are in development I had no hopes posting this.

Camping and tunnelling are the symptoms and in those small attempts to cure it, they've tried to cure the symptoms, not the reason. And the reason - it's rewarding "tactic".

Everyone with "get swf, get good" etc, please dont bother. There will always be soloq and you can't do anything about it. "Deal with it, accept or leave" to the trash bin as well. You can say this regarding any bad or unfortunate event irl, but it's not worth the oxygen. If anyone in your life try to rob you of your money, joy or your time and you're okay with that I'm truly sorry for you. It's very sad that everyone just accept every present issue like smth normal, turning a blind eye, pressing ready over and over again.

Everyone talk about toxicity but almost no one wants to improve situation. Be more kind and forgiving to each other. Only complaints and revenge. Huge amount of players forget or never bother at all that their opponents are real, breathing people. Dominate on the screen, that's what matters, right ?

    1. Your friend quiting DbD was in fact the best thing to happen to him that day. He doesn't know, but it was.

2 you think it is any different for killers? Who's first game they are teabagged flashlight stunned and body blocked every hook? It goes both ways.

The simple truth is toxic breeds toxic. There are problems on both sides. And it's down to behavior to fix it. And it's impossible to fix without making the game fun for a large section of the Player base.

There are 3 sides solo Q. Friends and killer. You can only ever have two of those balanced

Actually, this was the noob experience for a long time and proceeds to be, not as often tho.

Almost any old dbd video i watch of noob killers, they're camping.

Not saying its good but its seems like the dbd initiation

I really love this game and which that I could introduce others to it ... but I also know that the bar of entry is set in such a way that its very impropable and a hard sale. I had one friend who bought the game together with me in October/November last year, when the Stranger Things dlc left us, and he tried about 3 times to get into the game, before he shelved it forever. His perception was that killers were too strong, there was nothing that you could do as a survivor to counter them and that gens just randomly exploded, no matter what. Also, he couldn't take the Trickster seriously, whom we were facing a lot during that time, as he was the newest OG killer at the time. "I am supposed to be afraid of that painted dude? I could floor him with one good punsh..."

So, even when I racked up a few hundred hours in the game and told him how much I could explain and show to him now, he just wouldn`t give the game a new chance and try it out again, this time with a seasoned guide.

So yeah, camping, tunneling and the MMR hell are turning down A LOT of new players, and thats not even talking about the grind, all the "must have" perks, and all that.

It's very sad that everyone just accept every present issue like smth normal, turning a blind eye, pressing ready over and over again.

    It is what it is.

Nothing is perfect, no game is perfect. Every game will have frustrations but it's up to you to decide whether those frustrations are worth the fun in the game.

Personally facecamping is not an issue for me because it rarely happens to me. I also don't feel compelled to do it because i find it boring to do and you get barely any points out it. The recent buff to basekit BT has also made tunnelling way less of an issue for me as well.

Toxicity is an issue but it won't be fixed by asking people to be kinder. That's never worked. Humans are animals, when you deny them their gratification they will react with anger. The solution is to block communication so that they take their frustrations out on nothingness.

Game is balanced around survivors being coordinated at this point but the big problem is there's no way to communicate in solo q.

dbd should have a ping system/ingame vc between the survivors

I mean if someone's gonna quit the game after one bad match, shows they don't have much patience. Literally every multiplayer game has toxic players and tactics that while legit, are frowned upon, i.e. face camping. Dbd is a good game, i started less than a month ago, and I have my share of terrible matches both as killer and survivor. But i also have really good ones, where GGs were exchanged, compliments and advice given.

Just gotta take the rough with the smooth and not worry about it too much. I dislike getting slugged by nurses as much as the next player but it's just finish the game and on to the next one.

I often wonder just how many players buy the game and get turned away within a few matches by either obnoxious playstyles or running into players who treat them like crap.

Yet BHVR has no interest in trying to improve the community or fix these integral game flaws, so here we are.

The fact that OP explained he's a "Hot head, impulsive lad" and immediately demanded if there was a chat - probably to say some compliments and ask some advice on how to get better no doubt /s - further proves that he probably would become part of "the problem".

Except the "problem" isn't a DBD one. Welcome to the magnificent world of PvP games. Everybody is worthless except you (me especially from what I've gathered in my match).

To address OP's post, yes, this is the new player experience and no, it's not going anywhere, be it Killer side or Survivor side. Also, "Be more kind and forgiving", but your friend doesn't seem to be the type, and neither are you with the way you dismiss answers you deem worthy of "the trash bin" and "not worth the oxygen". I can smell a certain double standard here actually.

But I don't blame you. We're human, a.k.a the opposite of perfection. And I'm way too faulty to throw the stone at anyone.

All of this to say, yeah, shame that happened to your friend. But what can you, or anyone, do about it? Ban every toxic player? Now that would reduce the game's popularity by a lot.

I'm so used to this kind of killers to the point where i never thought of this until i saw this post. Now i wonder how many people has abandoned and left dbd because of killers who camp and tunnel
