Character exclusive buffs/bonuses??
Okay so, hear me out, survivors and killers should have exclusive buffs within the trial. (them being lore accurate ofc) I think this would be a great addition and make survivors less cosmetic and make them more unique cause right now most survivors are just used for their looks. I have made some suggestions for these bonuses for survivors i will list them here:
Dwight Fairfield: Your team leading skills make everyone have more hope. Survivors you're healing and survivors who heal you have a slight increase in healing speed (5-15%)
Meg: Your athletic nature makes you less exhausted. Exhausted lasts for a slightly shorter duration of time (5-15%)
Claudette Morel: Years of being a botanist have taught you how to treat wounds more efficeintly. Gain an increase in healing speed by 20-35%
Jake Park: You have spent a lot of time in the woods. This has taught you a few things. The sound of your walking is reduced by 50% and you do not alert woodland creatures.
Nea Karlsson: Oftenly sneaking out has taught you this and that. Make 45% less noise when falling and reduce stagger by 15%
William "Bill" Overbeck: Being a survivor of a zombie apocalypse, you know how to take care of yourself. When healing yourself make 50% less noise and gain a 10% increase in healing speed. (only works on yourself)
David King: Fighting a lot has made you more immune to pain. Increase the lenght of endurance effects by 50%
Laurie Strode: Surviving Micheal for a long time makes you more determined to survive. Increase killer stun duration by 20%.
Ace Visconti: You are a lucky bastard. Gain a moderate luck increase in trial.
Feng Min: E-sport gaming made you learn a few strategies from video games. Generators you're repairing make 50% less noise and you lose less progress while failing a skill check.
Kate Denson: You're an expert guitar player, meaning you have swift finger which you use to your advantage. Cleanse totems, heal and repair generators 5% faster.
Adam Francis: Years of education and teaching made you more knoledgeable. Great skill check zones are increased by 20%
Jeff Johansen: Being an artist allows you to mark locations for survivors using mud and dirt around the place. Gain the ability to make waypoints for other survivors (Maximum 5 per trial) to show them where objectives or pallets are.
Jane Romero: Having your own show has its ups and downs. You like to take things head-on, meaning your timers for perks are decreased by 1s (head on, inner strenght etc.)
Ash J. WIlliams: You are "a man built for survival" and an "alone wolf" meaning when all survivors are are sacrificed gain a 100% increase in opening gates and the hatch.
(not doing the stranger things characters since the license kinda dipped lol (also i ran out of ideas for them))
Yui Kimura: Being a street racer means you're trying to be as fast as possible. Gain a 5% increase to vault speed when being chased.
Zarina Kassir: You prefer to avoid detection, meaning you have a 25% increase in movement speed while crouching.
Cheryl Mason: Being a psychic makes you spiritually stronger. Aura reading duration is increased by 2s and the range of auras is increased by 15 meters.
Felix Richter: Being an architect means you are more familiar with tools. Item consumption rate is decreased by 20%
Elodie Rakoto: You decept killers to keep yourself alive. When a killer misses near you, gain 5% bonus movement speed for 3 seconds.
Yun-Jin Lee: You are self-interested meaning you make sure you get out of sticky situations, even if it means sacrificing someone else. When a survivor is sacrificed you get a 20% increase in aura reading range (up to 3 stacks)
Jill Valentine: You have triumphed over bio weapons and monsters, and you know how to fight back more efficiently. You pull down pallets 20% faster.
Leon.S Kennedy: You are a rookie police officer and that has taught you some things. When getting injured by the killer you leave no scratch marks behind for 3 seconds and the speed boost is increased by 10%.
Mikaela Reid: You are a mystic with supernatural abilities. While using boon perks, the range of the boons is increased by 10 meters.
Jonah Vasquez: You are a mathematician, meaning you can help other survivors repair generators more efficiently. The survivors repairing generators with you have skill check speed decreased by 5% but the great skill check zone is decreased by 5%.
Yoichi Asakawa: You are a psychic, meaning you protect yourself from evil spirits easier. While the killer is using their power reveal their aura for 0.7 seconds.
Haddie Kaur: You feel others's suffering. When healing other survivors you make sure to make them calm down. Your healing noise is reduced by 75% only while healing others.
Detective Tapp: You are better at locating objectives than other people. When spawning in the trial see the auras of all generators for 10 seconds.
Quentin Smith: You have survived Freddy Kruegers's attacks and you are able to make more of medical supplies to survive. Item consupmtion rate is decreased by 40% only when using a medkit.
Rebecca Chambers: You are a medic and your presence soothes others. Survivors within 10 meters of you make 50% less grunts of pain and while you heal them they make no noise at all.
Ada Wong: You are a secret agent which makes you more stealthy. While the killer's aura is revealed to you, it will linger for 3 seconds after the aura reading has ended

It's remarkable that you thought of stuff for every single survivor. Well done.
But just like every one of these suggestions, it'd make one survivor meta. In this case it'd probably be kate. +5% unconditional gen speeds is deceptively powerful. It'd be a bummer to have Jonah be your favorite survivor, but to choose him hinders you and your entire team because he's suboptimal.

The reason why this idea gets rejected is because people will quickly find the best survivor and then survivor diversity takes a plummet. For example the best survivor on this list would definitely be Laurie. Increased Stun time is huge. Survivors in DBD have always just been a way for players to express themselves - they pick the survivors that they like the most. This shouldn't be changed.

No. It is a nightmare to balance and punishes players for liking a non-meta survivor. Also some of those effects are disgustingly overpowered.

I agree with you. We have perks that we can use on whatever character you feel like playing. I want to be able to play the character I want with the perks I want. Besides the fact that the killer will know what you can do simply based on the character you're playing. It takes the fun of the unknown out of the game.

Neat that you thought of an idea for every survivor. But there'd be way too many Kates and Lauries while Ace would never be seen again.
Also you're messing with people's mains.
This is a ginormous no.

This isn't really something that'd fit Dead By Daylight, but if you want an asymmetrical game that executes the idea of survivors having different buffs/abilities pretty well, I'd recommend giving Identity V a go.

While it is neat that you took the time to give suggestions to make playing different survivors interesting, as many above have mentioned it would be incredibly unhealthy for the game and would lead to a severe bottlenecking in what survivors see play and what survivors are completely ignored. In this case, players who are strong at looping would be playing Nea or Yui and everyone else would be playing Kate, Claudette, or Laurie. It just would lead to an even more unhealthy meta game and would frankly make the game a lot less interesting on both ends in the long run, especially for killer (they've already had to deal with seeing the same 4 perks for 5 years straight and that's finally done and over with).

I love this, and want it so bad. I got a note pad full of something similar, however I made each survivor have a negative(s) depending on how strong their strengths were.
Also wanna add, I'd change Janes to be a percent, so its more useful for the much longer timed perks.
