Why did they choose a DbD-like for the Evil Dead game?
I don't know if this should be here or the off topic section since it deals with the genre as a whole instead of DbD specifically, but I'll put it here for now.
This is something I've wondered since its reveal. Why a DbD-like? Evil Dead is great, amazing even, but it doesn't have nearly the following to attract the playerbase needed to survive in the PvP scene. The 4v1 survival horror thing is an incredibly niche genre, so why make the Evil Dead game one instead of a single player experience like all the other TED games? It would have done so, so much better as a single player action/horror game.

They did not? Evil Dead is more of a Left for Dead clone only a player is the "director" instead to make it asymmetrical.
That being said, I do agree that making it a pvp, especially a paid one, was a terrible decision.

Oh, I've always heard of it as a DbD-like. Huh... Sounds more like that one Resident Evil multiplayer mode from a while back.

Evil Dead The Game is nothing like DBD. Thankfully so.
It’s actually more unique than any of the Asymmetrical games out there. Each survivor has their own unique abilities (unlike DBD where everyone is just a vessel using the same perks) You still have to work together to make those abilities make a difference.
The game is very popular in consoles (mostly) but it has the potential to attract more players on PC if they keep releasing new content.
Demon main there, but currently have everyone (demon/survivor) maxed out.
