What is the point of Mettle of Man?
Since BHVR reworked Dead Hard so its basically MoM but better. The only reason why MoM is better than Dead hard is that Dead Hard has an animation.
My real question, why would you add perk that works the same/better than already existing perk?

honestly i'd rather get the timing right and move than get 3 protection hits to get it.

Because its the only endurance perk in the game that stacks (And the only one the community almost universally agrees should be the only one able to). With MoM, once its active, it will save you no matter how you're hit, which can very well be what saves you, wheras dead hard must be timed correctly. MoM, as said, also stacks, meaning you can eat one hit with MoM, then another with dead hard.

There are reasons why DH is still meta and MoM is not. Its activation requirement is very steep and the aura reading is quite penalizing. MoM is a side-quest for survivors who want to play sub-optimally.

The point of MoM is for gimmicky meme builds. Basically just a funny perk for funny gamers, nothing wrong with it.
