Chapter Lore (Movie Plot from Wikipedia):

A geology expedition in the Amazon uncovers fossilized evidence (a skeletal hand with webbed fingers) from the Devonian period that provides a direct link between land and sea animals. Expedition leader Dr. Carl Maia orders his two assistants to stay in camp while he visits the marine biology institute.

Carl reunites with his friend and former student, ichthyologist Dr. David Reed. David works at an aquarium in California, but more recently, he has been a guest at Carl's institute in Brazil to study lungfish. David persuades his boss, the financially minded Dr. Mark Williams, to fund a return expedition to the Amazon to look for the remainder of the skeleton.

Soon after Carl leaves camp, a piscine amphibious humanoid, a living member of the same species from which the fossil originated, becomes curious about the expedition's camp. When its sudden appearance frightens the assistants, they panic and attack, and in response, the enraged Creature kills them both.

The group goes aboard the tramp steamer Rita, captained by crusty Lucas. The expedition consists of David; Carl; Mark; David's girlfriend and colleague Kay Lawrence; and another scientist, Dr. Edwin Thompson. When they arrive at the camp, they discover Carl's assistants have been killed while he was away. Lucas suggests it was likely done by a jaguar, but the others are unsure.

A further excavation of the area where Carl found the fossil turns up nothing. Mark is ready to give up the search, but David suggests that perhaps thousands of years ago, the part of the embankment containing the rest of the skeleton fell into the water and was washed downriver, broken up by the current. Carl says the tributary empties into a lagoon. Lucas calls it the "Black Lagoon", a paradise from which no one has ever returned. The scientists decide to risk it, unaware that the amphibious "Gill-man" that killed Carl's assistants has been watching them.

Taking notice of the beautiful Kay, the creature follows the Rita all the way downriver to the Black Lagoon. Once the expedition arrives, David and Mark go diving to collect rock samples from the lagoon floor. After they return, Kay goes swimming and is stalked underwater by the Gill-man, who then gets briefly caught in one of the ship's drag lines. Although it escapes, the Creature leaves a claw behind in the net, revealing its existence.

Subsequent encounters with the Gill-man claim the lives of Lucas's crew members, before the Creature is captured and locked in a cage aboard the Rita. It escapes during the night, attacking Edwin, who was guarding it. Kay smashes the Creature with a lantern, driving it off, but Edwin is severely injured. Following this incident, David decides they should return to civilization. Mark, who is obsessed with capturing (or killing) the Creature, objects. As the Rita tries to leave, they find the Gill-man has blocked the lagoon's entrance with fallen logs. While the others attempt to remove the logs, Mark is mauled to death while trying to capture the Creature single-handed underwater. The Gill-man then abducts Kay and takes her to its cavern lair. David, Lucas, and Carl chase after the Creature, and Kay is ultimately rescued. The Creature is riddled with bullets before retreating to the lagoon, where its body sinks into the watery depths.

Kay worked as a scientist under Dr. Mark Williams and later, Dr. David Reed whom she fell in love, and became engaged with. Dr. Edwin Thompson mentions her doing valuable research. She unsuccessfully tried telling Mark that "his ambition was showing".

After cleansing a totem, gain a token up to a maximum of 1. When 100% total healing progress is made, you lose a token. Heal survivors 100/150/200% faster with a token. (Doesn't effect how many med-kit charges are used)


Adventurer:

For every tile that hasn't been ran on, gain a 5/10/15% speed bonus for 1.5 seconds.


Helpless:

After being in the dying state for more than 120/60/30 seconds, this perk activates.

Other survivors heal you 200% quicker.

This perk deactivates after being picked up.



New Killer: The Gillman / The Creature

Backstory:

The Gill-man is fully amphibious, capable of breathing both in and out of the water. It possesses large, webbed hands with sharp claws on the tip of each finger. The Gill-man's scaly skin is extremely tough, which combined with a fast-acting healing factor, allows it to survive wounds which would be fatal to humans, such as gunshots and full immolation. It also possesses superhuman strength, which is flamboyantly displayed throughout his attacks.


Power: Entity Inundation

The Entity forces rain apon the Realm, significantly altering the trial.

Depending on the realm, water will flood four meters high; only leaving secondary floors unflooded.

Move 50% faster in water but move 50% slower on land.

Survivors move 25% slower in water.

It takes 30 seconds for a survivor to drown.

Survivors and the killer can float up and down by looking up or down in water while walking forward.

Items float up in water.

Chests and totems can spawn on the 1st floor.

Special Interaction: Drowning

Survivors will have a meter around their icon depicting how long they have before they drown, if a survivor drowns they are put into the dying state. The meter resets when the survivor gets on land.

Special Ability: Webbed Grasp

Press the ability button to instantly pick up a survivor that's healthy or injured, this does not injure them and they cannot be placed on a hook. Dropping them or if they wiggle out, it does not apply a stun.

Green Moss: Survivors suffer the hindered (4%) status when swimming.

Kelp: Decreases the survivors screen brightness by 25% while swimming.

  • Walk 8% faster on land.

Fossilized Rocks: When an injured survivor swims, a red trail follows them (like scratch marks).

Fishing Net: The rate of survivors drown meter increases 10% faster.

Winch Rope: Survivors vault pallets 15% slower.

Broken Lantern:

All flashlights have 75% of the charge they started with.

Kay's Wetsuit:

Walk and Swim 10% faster while carrying a survivor with Webbed Grasp. Survivors wiggle out of Webbed Grasp 20% faster.

Diesel Barrel:

For each generator completed, survivors drown 10% faster, up to a maximum of 50%.

Punctured Oxygen Tank:

Injured survivors drown 25% faster.

Very Rare Addons:

Luis's Flesh: If a Healthy survivor wiggles out of Webbed Grasp, they are put into the injured state with the killer getting inflicted with a three second stun.

Driftwood: Swimming threw an underwater doorway blocks it by the entity, disallowing passage by survivors.

Ripped Netting: Survivors sink in water by 0.5M/ps.

Dark Seagrass: Decreases the terror radius by 12 meters while in the water, while increasing the terror radius on land by 6 meters.

Ultra Rare Addons:

Iridescent Harpoon: If a survivor stuns you more than 5 times, they can be killed by hand, even if they're healthy.

Iridescent Fossilized Hand: While carrying a survivor with Webbed Grasp, all survivors within your terror radius become Exposed. Also grants the following:

  • 25% Additional walk and swim speed while carrying a survivor with Webbed Grasp.
  • Vault windows while carrying a survivor with Webbed Grasp at -35% of the regular vault speed.

This addon has a cooldown of 120 seconds.

Dormant Lungs

A dormant set of lungs that allows easier and quieter breathing.

Sounds made by the killer and the terror radius is reduced by 25/50/75%.
