What's the better strategy against Dredge?
You see a pair of lockers side by side. Do you lock both or just one?
Why?
(Feel free to explain if you'd take either, depending on certain circumstances).

Always just one. He always defaults to the locked one. If you lock both, then he can hop out and break the other. If you lock one, then once he breaks out, that area can be used AGAIN as a slowdown against the killer.

I always lock just one. Dredge can just break the second lock with M1 after teleporting to the first one.
You miss out on getting a longer warning and potential extra safety in exchange for wasting the killer's time only very slightly.

I mean you should never lock both. If he teleports to it, its going to send him out of either one, He’ll see the lock and break it. Effectively wasting it.

Never lock both lockers in a pair. If Dredge teleports to a pair of lockers, it will always force him into the locked one if one is locked and one isn't (unless a survivor is in the other one, in which case it'll prioritize that). Once one lock is used this way then you can lock the other one and make him exit slowly again the next time he tries to go to that pair of lockers.
If you lock both immediately, then he'll get out of one locker and then he can just break the other.

My strategy is also to lock only one, but I had a talk with someone who was vehement that locking both is best. And I noticed that my solo queue teammates were going around locking all of them.
For anyone else reading this, if you're in the camp that locking both truly is best, feel free to try to explain why.

I always lock one so I can hide in the other. 😝

Hide in lockers.
Reverse psychology, he won't see it coming :P

Oh, but he will 😉😏 lol
Are you a Dredge main? haha

Lol, I played Dredge last week and got a grab out of nowhere because I accidentally teleported into a locker someone else was hiding in. Took me a second to even realize I was carrying a survivor. 😄 So yeah, I admit I did not see it coming!

Lock just one locker at a time if there are duo lockers next to each other.
If he place his teleport down, just hold W and run to a different tile / loop.

Reminds me of this lol

So I like to lock both for efficiency and maybe that's wrong. Most times dredge is in a hurry when he comes out trying to jump a survivor. If he choose to break a lock instead of chasing me...great? Also, him breaking locks with m1 is only a little faster than when he warps to them (has to notice, stop, aim, animation). Him breaking them with m1 is about same time as survivor locking it, but there are 4 survivors so matching survivors action for action is a losing game for killers. That's why boons that get snuffed are still helpful to survivors for instance. Spend 14 seconds booning, killer takes 2 to snuff, but still has to locate it and walk over. Killer has to be 4 times more efficient. IE: hooking survivor takes two to three out, 1 hooked, 1 going to unhook, 1 being chased.

The only reason you should ever lock both is if the match is practically over and you are farming points

Just lock the one, at loops when he holds his power to anti loop, just run forward. The best two counters to dredge.

I think it doesnt really matter. On most maps, you only need a handfull of lockers as reference points anyway, and if possible, you take stand-alone lockers anyway.
Once i realized that, i really enjoyed people locking the lockers, because the time they spend doing it just adds up and they do nothing else during that.

Interesting question, i saw a set of 3 lockers togethwr yesterday on rpd. Will he always default to the locked locker in a group of 3?

Even if it's a group of 5 he will always teleport to the locked one, for some reason. Although, if there's a single locked locker in a group of lockers and you decide to hide in it, game will prioritize the locker with the survivor inside it, so be careful if you do that.

Ty for the clarification. I hate facing dredge so much. He dominates solo q games lol
