How do gates open so fast?
just played a game where there were two gens left and 1 survivor,I closed the hatch and instantly he escaped,no chasing between gates or seeing lights at gate or hearing gates open, just survivor out. How?

How instant is instant? If it was literally instant, they cheated. If it was a few seconds, it's possible they were hiding near you and keyed open the hatch. If it was more like 10 seconds, they could have done something like Wake Up + Sole Survivor while waiting at the gate.

Gates take twenty seconds to open by default.
Sole Survivor Brings this down to fourteen. <I used this perk religiously in solo>
Wake up brings this down to sixteen I believe <It might be lower>.
Sole Survivor and wake up brings this down to ten seconds <I think>.

Was the gate open, or is it possible he found a key and opened the hatch once you left? I know some survivors with a key will follow the killer and then open hatch once they've closed it. Depends how fast this all happened.

My bet is they found a key and just reopened the hatch after you closed it. I have done it once with that one challenge of escaping through the hatch.
But I don't know there are a few factors that could add to it, depending. I tend to play with Resilience and that 8% bonus in opening the gate does wonders from time to time.
Nonetheless, the other day I was in a match where the last generator was done in concurrence to me downing a Survivor. I picked them up, hooked them (the went down merely like six steps away from a hook) and by the time the hooking animation was done, a gate had been opened and I was all "What? How did they open the gate so fast??" But I do think that was hacking.

With sole survivor or wake up it could take like 15-16 seconds.
And if am in that situation, i usually open the gate up till ~20ish percent before any lights turn on. Wait for your patrol, then proceed with the rest of the progress.

If you are the last alive and injured with the killer looking at you with clear line of sight witin 32m, and are running wake up, sole survivor, resilience, and spine chill, you can get the door time knocked down to 2 seconds

Plunderer's and Appraisal, then bring key to hatch, I started doing it cause playing SoloQ sucks aside from farming.

Sometimes I just stand beside the gate cause I know we ain't losing. That's basicly how.

Really curious as to how you got that one because I was only able to get it down to 10.52 seconds with all 4 bonuses together.

I did the math wrong i think lol, i just took away 90% instead of calculating the 90% faster properly

Honestly fair enough
I wish dbd maths worked like that

you can open the hatch with a key between two killer hits

That I doubt. We’d have hatch stand-off V.2.

thats how i did my achivement. got hit on the hatch > opened the hatch > got hit again > got out.

But he is actually right.

You can though. Opening hatch is 2.5 seconds (1.67 with sole survivor).

Well I stand corrected.
Straight up didn’t know Sole Survivor affected it either.
