Where are some resources for how to get good at survivor?

Hello Dead by Daylight forum users! I've played DBD for a few years now with month long breaks in-between. I've played a lot of killer and have grasped many fundamentals for killer and been rank 1 multiple times (I don't know if that means anything tbh). Anyways, I started playing survivor because I figured I would be halfway decent and because my friends got the game to play with me. However, I found out that I am very bad at survivor, and my lack of skill is making it very hard to enjoy the game. Almost every match I get sacrificed very fast and I haven't escaped but a few times within my hundreds of games played these few weeks.

I really enjoy this game as a killer, but I want to get good so I can play with some friends and have a halfway decent time. Thank you for taking your time to read this and have a great day.

Side note: If you have any tips, please share them. I need all the help I can get.

    Git gud.

no seriously, practice and experience do help a lot! Also maybe try watching some videos/streams from people that also explain how they are playing.

though, where do you think you have problems? Is it direct chases/looping the killer? Do you want to get better avoiding the killer? Do you have problems in contributing in (gen) progression because you can’t find gens/fail skillchecks?

Without knowing where you have problems, there are some perks that may help survivors getting better generally:

Windows of Opportunity - if you don’t know tiles that well (or where on the map there are still pallets especially in SoloQ) this comes in very handy.

Technician - if you struggle with skillchecks you don’t alarm the killer

    Deja-Vu/Visionary - help finding gens/avoid 3-gens

Alert/Kindred/Bond/Empathy - some kind of general info/aura perk on killer/other survivors. Knowing where the killer is going/coming from can be very helpful, knowing where your mates are to get a heal/heal them/avoid bringing killer to them or (if you are on death hook) finding someone better that can tank a hit

Lithe - or any exhaustion perk - to extend chases. I think Lithe is pretty good for beginners with the conditions while Sprint Burst and Dead Hard are without a doubt the strongest ones though they need more coordination.

These are all very helpful, Thank you. I'll keep grinding, but man it's really hard to balance college and DBD. I believe that Windows will help a lot because I tend to run into deadzones. My general problem is just learning what to do against certain killers. Wraiths have really been kicking my ass recently, because get really confused on what to do when they cloak but still chase you. Dredges have also really confused me because I don't know if it is better to run into his remnant or run into him or hell maybe even leave the loop! Sadako also confuses me because she has that phasing ability that spirit has when she kind of cloaks intermittently. The other main one is Trickster. I find it hard to loop them around waist height objects sometimes (mainly cars). This is because he can throw them over these objects, and I don't really know if it's better to stay at the loop and try to dodge or find a better one. I don't really have any issues with skill checks or finding gens because I've played the game for so long (however some newer maps are very confusing). All in all, chases really bone me and certain killers throw me around like a football.

    Again, thanks for the help.
