Cheaters using anonymous mode
Gidday ~
How do you report a cheater using anonymous mode?
In previous discussions devs have mentioned sending clips along with reports. If they're anonymous however they just have the character name (In this case Spirit). Is an in-game report with the hope it will be seen enough?

Anonymous mode doesn't really change anything with regards to reporting.
You still need to make an in-game report against the player - this flags the match to us and links us the player.
Then send your additional evidence (the video) to our Support team as normal - you do not need the ID of the person that you are reporting in order to complete this form. We are able to find the information that you have previously given us in-game.

Reporting works the same for users with or without anonymous mode.
The procedure requires an in-game reports, which will flag your game, and a ticket on the Support website (https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/categories/6713776396180-Dead-by-Daylight) which requires a certain amount of information and video evidence for this kind of offenses.
The only thing that has changed with the introduction of the mode is that the ticket does not require the offender's SteamID64, profile link or name, as those information can be obtained by Support through your in-game report and the information you add to your ticket.

Are there any plans to streamline this process. I got tired of doing it that way a long time ago. There are way too many cheaters for players to spend their own time repeatedly reporting that way.

I don't think there are. As this game doesn't backlog the matches with videos like a replay system. Theyd have to remake the entire game with it to streamline the reports. They can correct me if im wrong though.

It's a chore to report people from console. I gave up long ago.

Unfortunately the devs commented a couple of times that they determined it wasn’t feasible to implement a replay system, both for players to be able to view replays of their own matches and also for the ticketing system to be able to automatically generate a replay file for customer service to review when a ticket is created. It’s too bad because if the tickets could generate their own replay files it would be a win-win for both the players submitting the tickets and the customer service people that have to review the tickets since every ticket would have the necessary attachment automatically with no need for players to go through figuring out how to record games or remembering to do it.

What about console players such as myself? I can't provide video evidence every single time I run unto cheaters and right now there are too many. Sure, if I wanted to spend half an hour per report but that's really just a waste of time. Is in game reporting alone enough, especially with the amount of cheaters right now?

game reporting alone does literally nothing, for some reason. so yeah i would just give up

I figured. I actually quit playing about a week ago because the cheating is getting ridiculous and it's to much for me to report every single cheater. Fact is, I don't even stream, nor should I have to just to have video evidence and go through the hassle of reporting cheaters. Game developers should be pleasing their consumers, and right now this game is not in a pleasing state. I really hope they have something in the works to fix this because I've seen games die because of rampant cheaters. This is one game I do not wish to see go down the same path.

Perhaps a stupid question: Isn't there anything within the data of the match, even without video, that would show cheats in action? Like some kind of extra or altered code that would be a red flag?

Not all players can provide a video. Developers or MODS have to carefully watch every single report about cheaters and exploits themselves.
I personally don't even understand the idea of playing a game and record every single match I playing, just to have a cheater banned. This is first for me.
If the only way for you to ban a cheater by video evidence, you have to implement match ID with possibility to download a match and replay.
If you don't record your matches, does it mean, If I report a cheater it will be useless if I have no evidence?
I refuse to download OBS or using Nvidia recording while I'm just playing a game. The game should not require that.

There should be. There should literally be rules in place in the programming logic that dictates what is in bounds and what is out of bounds, what's allowed and what isn't, ect.
