Fan Chapter: Injustice (Realm/Map, Killer, and Survivor idea)

Hello hello, here is my next fan chapter called Injustice. I wanted a chapter based around Ancient Greece (something to go with the Greek Legends collection). I decided to create the idea of a killer character that is similar to the Twins, but using a nonhumanoid as part of the power. I know dbd said non-humanoid were not going to happen, but this could be a decent solution since there is still a humanoid to pick up survivors and hook them. Please tel me what you think of this chapter!

Realm: Massathon

A small city-state located near the center of Greece. Massathon was originally well-known for its large market and excellent goods…that is until it became better known for its citizens leaving the city, after a monstrous force killed all of their hunters. The ancient city now lays abandoned, a mysterious shrine to a gruesome massacre.

Map: Abandoned Agora

Massathon’s Agora was the home of Its massive market. Life never seem quiet here, always bustling loudly. Whether it was from the booming marketplace, the loud prayers from the nearby temple, the wild plays at amphitheater, or even the homes of the civilians, it was never quiet. That it until, the night of the massacre and the city was silence for good.

Killer: The Shepherd

Name: Theodoros and Pharaoh

Gender: Male

Nationality: Ancient Greek/Egyptian

Realm: Massathon (Abandoned Agora)

Power: The Hellhound

Weapon: The Crook

Speed: 4.4/110

Appearance (Shepherd): The Shepherd is a handsome man, his dark brown skin shows chiseled features, broad shoulders, and decent muscles. His thick, dark brown hair is styled in long braids that are pulled back.  His eyes glow a bright grey, having no pupil or Iris. He wears a himation cloth wrapped around his body (that shows off his chest), a belt around his waist and sandals. While he mostly appears human, watch and you can see cut and gashes that will rip on in his chest and abdomen, blood dripping down his body as more and more wounds open on him before the wounds end with one large slit appear over his neck. His form will then flicker, almost like a projection and the wounds will disappear in an instant, only for them to gradually reappear again.

Appearance(Hellhound): The Hellhound is a monstrous beast, it’s stocky body is covered in thick, smoky grey, bristle fur. Its eyes glow a bloody red, it teeth are razor sharp, and from its mouth a red/orange glows from it, a fire that burns within it. Similar to its master, a jagged deep wound will slowly appear and disappear along the side of the canine’s body. Fire and smoke bursts from its fur when summoned.

Background

Theodoros was born in Athens during 3600 BC. His father died when he was an infant, an illness that no healer was unfortunately able to cure. Theodoros was raised by his mother and his father’s grandparents, who taught him both Greek and Egyptian languages. He grew up speaking both languages, but was told when in the presence of Greeks, speak Greek and only Greek. When Theodoros was only a child, he left Athens with his mother while his grandparents stayed. The journey was long, but Theodoros and his mother made it to his mother’s original home, Massathon. He was enrolled in school and quickly surprised his teachers with his gifted intelligence. As he grew older, he notice how many people would give him hard stares and glares, but the moment he spoke Greek, the looks will stop at once. When he brings this up his mother, she simply reminds him to keep speaking Greek when he is out. When not in school, Theodoros would help his mother at home, helping tend the the crops and mostly shepherding their livestock. A visit from his grandparents brought on a gift to Theodoros and his mother. A dog. A molossus to be exact. The huge canine looks ferocious, but one gentle lick to Theodoros was enough for him to fall for the mongrel. He named the beast, Pharaoh. Theodoros and Pharaoh played throughout his teenage years and he was even able to teach the dog how to herd the livestock. Theodorus tamed the wildly beast using commands in both Greek and Egyptian. While he knew he shouldn’t be speaking Egyptian, he found a joy in doing so with Pharaoh. Even though the beast couldn’t speak back, is reminded Theodorus’ of his grandparents and helped him feel a connection to his father. Theodorus and Pharaoh, of course, kept their language a secret. Both boy and dog grew into an intelligent young man and intelligent an old dog when one fateful day occurred. They were out on the field when something caught Pharaoh’s attention and took off. Theodoros chases after, shouting commands in Egyptian to stop the dog. This shouts was heard by a group of Massathon hunters, and they quickly confronted him about it, accusing him of not being a real Greek and being a dirty barbarian. Theodoros tried to correct himself and speak Greek, but the hunters were not buying it, one of them taking the shaft of his spear and slamming it against Theodoros, and knocking it down, they proceed to beat Theodoros, getting the attention of Pharaoh. The dog ran forward, teeth bared and attack one of the hunters, ripping into his arm. The other hunters quickly reacted, thrusting their Spears and in the next instance Pharaoh was slain. Enraged, Theodoros push himself up through the beating and grabbed one of the spears, slashing with it, hitting a hunter across the chest. The hunter fell back in pain while the other two wasted no time, turning their spears to Theodoros’ chest. In a quick strike, both were sticking out of the young man, causing him to drop the his stolen spear and collapse back, choking on his own blood. The hunters took the Spears and stab into Theodoros’ torso repeatedly. Even with Theodoros long dead, the two injured hunters managed to lift Theodoros’ head and slit his throat for good measure. His body was found by his mother and her screams of horror and agony was heard across Massathon. The council of Massathon felt her grief, but stated that the hunters were only defending themselves from a someone who was non-Greek. A barbarian. Angered by the slander they spilled of her fallen son, she went on to give Theodoros a proper Greek burial. She wrapped his body in a ceremonial burial shroud and burned his body on it, tradition to allow the soul to be free of the body to venture out in the underworld. She even decided to wrapped Pharaoh’s body, burning him as well so they two can enter the next life together. But before she even began to cremate her son’s body, she placed offerings to the gods on his body for her son to make it safely to the underworld and be welcomed to the realm of paradise. She place feather of a screech owl and seeds of a pomegranate, to honor the king and queen of the underworld. The wings of a butterfly to appease to the spirit of death himself. A crocus flower, to thank the guide for leading her son’s soul to the underworld. And finally a single golden coin, to pay the ferryman. As her son’s and dog’s bodies burned, her grief and anger burned even hotter as she stormed into her home and brought out another item, a crooked dagger, she stabbing it into the ground, carving the symbol of the goddess of Revenge, praying for justice for her son. She cried till night came, her son’s ashes finally became cool enough to place in a urn before she finally allow herself to drift into her dreams, exhausted from her grief. Her dreams constantly replayed the images of Theodoros’ and Pharoh’s bloody bodies watching them burn. The poor mother screamed in agony and pleaded with the gods for justice, willing to give them anything for it. A black mist swirled in her mind as her oath was finally heard. Her dreams filled with the black mist swirling around her. It formed into black, jagged tendrils, grabbing at her, attempting to pull her into the fog. She gasped and fought in vain against the tendrils. But the next second a gentle hand grab her by her shoulders and gently pulled away from the grasps. She turned and stared at the form of Theodorus. A wet feeling hit her hand, making her look down and see the form of Pharaoh licking her hand. Her son gazed at her with a sad expression before nodding. He placed a gentle kiss on his mother forehead before turning with Pharaoh, the duo standing in front of the black mist and tendrils. An understanding seem to pass between them. A new oath. Theodorus turn to face his mother, offering one last sad smile, Pharaoh barking and growling as the fog and tendrils wrap around the duo, pulling them away, her son being taken away from her again. The mother woke with a start hearing a howl outside her door. She glances through a window, but didn’t think much of it until she heard a shuffling of feet and what sounds like heavy panting from a dog. For a moment, she had a memory of her son and his dog coming inside after tending to the livestock, but she shook her head, knowing that can’t be it as she closes her eyes again. The night of restless sleep passes and morning came with the sounds of screams coming from the town’s center. Theodoros’ mother came to see and was struck with horror. In the center was the bodies of the group of huntsmen, the ones who murdered Theodoros and Pharaoh, and the town’s council…or at least what was left of them. Their faces were still mostly recognizable but their bodies were torn to shreds and even burned. The town became in hysterical as the mother quickly returned home, sick to her stomach by what she had witness. A new sickness suddenly filled her as she quickly moved to her son’s urn and peered inside, the sickness in her growing even stronger. Her son’s ashes were gone, the dagger she used was now in her place. The gods had truly answered her. And her son had paid the price again.

Survivor: Santiago Gonzales

Role: Mythology and Folklore Researcher

Gender: Male

Nationality/Ethnicity: Mexican

Appearance: Santiago is a tall, chubby man with light brown skin, short messy black hair and deep brown eyes. He has a short scruffy facial hair and a right black stud earring. He wears a black button-up shirt, grey dress pants and black boots. He also a white bow tie and white suspenders.

Backstory: Santiago Gonzales grew up not only loving stories, but with them being his only comfort. Santiago’s home was cruel and abusive, what seem like an endless cycle of violence. Both parents often beat him and his siblings and in turn, the older siblings took out their frustrations against their younger siblings, including Santiago. Santiago was able to find escape old storybooks of gods, monsters, ghosts, creatures and explanations of phenomenons from the little safety of his cardboard hut outside his family’s house. Santiago loved reading and learning of these stories and legends from around the worlds, from religious beliefs, urban legends, passed down folklores, it didn’t matter.

One cloudy night, Santiago found a new book. A book that told stories of unknown mysteries around the world. One story Santiago remembers was of a ancient creature that will lure people into its own world to feast on them. A deity of pure horrors. While reading his book in the safety of his cardboard hut, Santiago was unaware he was now the only survivor of his family. A mysterious fire had ignited in his home, killing his parents and siblings inside. The source of the fire was never found. Santiago was taken in to a new home and after examinations of bruises and burns from his family’s years of abuse, he admitted the life he grew up in. Santiago’s story was soon spread across the country as a story of tragedy and hope for the young boy. The new found fake left him slightly bitter though, wondering how many people actually saw him as a person and not a sensational story. At the very least, the money from donations helped Santiago raised money to go to college. After graduating school and entering college, Santiago decided on a career in anthropology, dedicating his life to the myths and legends of the world and finding their origins. Years pass and when nearing the end of his bachelor’s, Santiago found himself trying to figure out what story he wanted his final project to be about. After researching, he found himself across one particular story that left his curiosity wanting to know more. An old legend of the Beast of Massathon. With money saved Santiago set off on a trip to Greece, the goal of learning as much as he could of the old city and this monster. From nearby towns, Santiago had gathered that the ancient town was long abandoned, a legend speaks of a ferocious beast that terrorized the ancient city, killing the town’s best hunters, forcing the remaining civilians to flee and never return. The town stood to this day, a grim reminder of vicious slaughtering. Many different stories were told of the old town’s monster origins. Some say it was as simple as some canine with rabies. Others said it was a vile curse from the gods for poor offering and worship. Some say it wasn’t a animal or monster but rather a serial killer of the time. Santiago wrote down each different conversation he could find, fascinated by the different origins of the Beast of Massathon. That is until one particular story came from a disfigured old man wearing a black robe. He told the story of a young boy who came from a different country, living with his Greek-born mother in Massathon. The boy grew into a young shepherd and found a friend in a canine. The young man, the hound and his mother lived on the outskirts of Massathon, behind the old temple, tending to their farmlands. But when the hunters of the town found out of the young man’s true origins they murdered him and his canine. His mother gave him a proper funerals and cremated his body, praying to the underworld gods for sanctuary for his son, but soon changed her mind, the goddess of revenge to instead bring justice to her son. The old man, grinned at Santiago, his teeth showing from inside his torn-opened and scarred cheek, saying he knows this because he found the small house, and was soon attacked by the Beast of Massathon. Santiago’s guide scoffed at this old man’s story, saying that there was never a house found intact on the outskirts, and that the only one found near the temple had collapsed hundred of years ago. While the old man and guide argued, Santiago slipped away. Feeling a connection to himself and this new tale of the young man and hound, Santiago traveled on foot until he finally reach the the limits of Massathon. Santiago entered the town, finding barely anything standing. Most buildings had been wiped out by time and weather, but in the distance, he could see what remains of the old temple. As Santiago moved toward the old temple, he froze snd his skin crawled searing he heard the sound of footsteps and deep growling. But after calling out and looking around the area, he soon saw nothing. Deciding it was his nerves getting the best of him, he hurry pass the temple and over a ridge. To his surprise, an old house was indeed in the outskirts, surrounded by a sun-baked field. With shaking legs, he approach the old house, and examine it. Along the door, something was carved into the wood. After some translations from his book, he was able to decipher some words such as “my son” and “justice”. Santiago’s heart pounded with excitement, wondering of the story of the old man was true as he snapped pictures. Without thinking, Santiago entered the home. It was mostly empty, saved for some old clay pots and hundred of years of dust. But along a long shelf, there laid an urn with markings along the side. To Santiago amazement, the engraving were not just in Ancient Greek, but also in Ancient Egyptian as well. Taking as many pictures as he could, Santiago took the urn and ran from the house, excited to share what he discovered. But then the something caught his eye and froze him to a full stop. The temple was standing. Before, the small temple was mostly collapse, saved from some determined columns. But now the small building, a dedications to the gods of Greece, was standing again, as if time never touched it. Santiago soon realize it wasn’t just the temple, but the town of Massathon as been brought back to life. Buildings and huts stood again, and the marketplace of the town, which was empty and barren, now had tents set up and cloth blankets laid out with goods of all sorts. But still no life was in Massathon, in fact the exact opposite. Over in the short stance, further into the agora, Santiago can see the a mass of blood and gore. Bodies that were beaten and town to shreds, surround by shattered spears and bows. The growling and footsteps rings into Santiago’s legs as he slowly turn, a deep fog was slowly nearing him. In the fog, he could see two figures. A man holding a crook and a lumbering hound walking toward him. The man’s eyes glowed grey while the hound’s glowed red. Santiago dropped the urn, it Landing softly in the soft sand of the agora as he turn and ran back toward the direction of the house. Santiago was reported missing a few days later.
