Any way to purchase killers with auric cells on a family shared account?

I am on a steam account that has dbd family shared to it, and when I previously tried to buy auric cells with steam funds it wouldn't let me as I don't technically own the base game. I'd like to pick up wesker and sadako, but steam only sells the dlc as bundles with the survivors and it costs about double per killer that way. Is there any way for the account with the actual base game to buy the killers using cells and then gift them to me? I remember somehow buying the scorched ghostface cosmetic around half a year ago, and I remember it involving using the steam market to transfer funds I had already placed on my account to the owner of the games so we could get the skin, so it's gotta be somehow possible to buy killers for another account if I can do it with cosmetics, right?

    You should be able to buy auric cells even if you don’t own the game itself.

    If it didn’t work with Steam Funds, maybe that is just not supported on its own - I don’t know how that works at all.


    it is not possible for someone else to buy auric cells/cosmetics/characters and gift them to you though. Only buying the DLC on the platform itself and family sharing it as well would work.
