Most unique parts of this game are being removed time and time again.
1. Prestige system- the most unique leveling system in any game and now it's just not the same. The old prestige icons will def create alot of nostalgia for vets in the future.
2- hatch- ok true, it needed the change, but the standoffs and keys and 4 mans through hatch was just so fun and unique.
3- Animations- so many amazing and unique animations were removed for no reason
4- fog- believe it or not fog used to make this game feel hella scary
5- sounds effects- many vets can relate on this one, but the game used to have such eerie and scary sound effects throughout the match and they were randomly removed quite awhile back. You guys remeber when the cow tree made sounds?
6- Moris- they are being obliterated in the update. They used to be amazing, even when it was mori off of first hook.
7- Specific techs- just so many techs like the reverse pallet stun etc are or have been removed for no reason (I think reverse still works but was supposed to be removed).
8. Strategies- mostly just slugging. It's a fair and unique strategy that's being removed. Let's not get into the controversy of this though.
9. Ranks- old ranking system was amazing, no reason for it to change at all. No one even asked for it, the old ranking system just needed some tweaks not a complete overhaul.
10- Old ranking system- before mmr and all of that. It used to put you in matches with other people of the same rank as you. The only problem with it and the reason they changed it was cause of smurfing and boosted survivors, bit ima go on a limb and say it's 10× better than the current system

The nostalgia is real. Do you by any chance remember when there was a distance blur (blurry spooky effect when you looked in distance)
This for some reason gives me so mutch nostalgia. I miss it so much

I still to this day why they removed distance fog/blur. If any game should have it, it's DbD.
Over the years they seem to have discarded more good than they've kept.

Yeah it was a golden time.
Some stuff was broken but it made things generally more exciting.
The quest for so called balance is often just a quest for blandness.

Yep, agree so much here. Fog, Moonlight offerings, tons of icons, distance blur, animations, and for sure the ambiance sounds.
Spirit got this so bad, she had glass shards that would float around her, the bright blue glowing effect she had on her weapon pull out/retract, her vaulting animation, her sword shattering apon hitting an object, all removed.
