What does the "Charcoal Stick" add-on do for The Artist?

So i thought that this effect would apply to survivor but i think i've played against this before and it didn't do that so what would be the point of this add-on? Does anyone have gameplay of it.

    Without this add-on, survivors can see the aura of crows flying towards them when the artists sets them off in flight from whenever they are in the map. It's like a white outline of a flock of crows flying across the map/towards them.

    WITH this add-on, they can no longer see those auras, but instead they see the aura of the crow being set for 0.5 seconds globally instead (the one with the giant crow head and the long line in front of it).

    The point of it is to make sniping across the map easier for the Artist/more confusing for the survivor, whilst making placing it during loops against the survivor you're chasing worse for The Artist.
