Licensed Half-Chapter Idea: Nope
Hello hello? Here is the my half-chapter idea for one of my recently favorite horror movies! Nope is such a interesting movie, mixing together sci-fi and horror very well. I liked it a lot! I particular love the characters of Oj and Emerald and thought it would be fun to see them in DBD as survivors. So here my my concepts for them!
Survivor: Otis “OJ” Haywood Jr.
Role: Recluse Animal Lover
Gender: Male
Nationality/Ethnicity: African American

Backstory: Oj Haywood did everything he could to keep his family’s ranch after the tragic and mysterious death of his father. So when he discovered a UFO near their ranch, he and his sister Emerald both saw a ticket to their fame and fortune. Of course it didn’t take Oj long to realize the truth: it wasn’t just a flying saucer, but an apex predator ready to hunt. The siblings were able to not only defeat the creature but were also able to document proof of its existence. Things seem to finally seem to look up for the Haywood family, having told the reporters everything, along with the picture of the creature. That night, Oj and Emerald went to bed, exhausted but triumphant. That is till a sound woke Oj up. Peering out the window, surrounded by a thick fog, a figure stood. It appeared to be a man on a horse. The man nodded at Oj before turning the horse and disappearing into the fog. Oj, feeling frantic, hurried outside, calling out his father’s name. After a moment, he ran into the fog, disappearing from view.
Perks: Animal Whisper, Clear Vision, and Step Ahead
Animal Whisper: You have a strong connection with animals. Crouch near a crow and while within 4 meters of them, use the active ability button to toss some seed at the crow. They will let out a soft caw and the auras of the nearest totem, chest and generator will be revealed to you. If the killer is within 28/32/36 meters, their aura will be revealed to you, and every other crow within the radius will fly away, causing multiple noise notifications. Has a cool down of 60 seconds.

Clear Vision: You notice when things seem off. When you cleanse a totem, Clear Vision activates. You ignore the Blindness status, the Oblivious Status, and the killer’s Undetectable status for 2.5 seconds when Clear Vision is active. The killer’s aura will be highlighted orange. Has a cool down of 100/80/60 seconds.

Step Ahead- You keep a close eye on others, making sure they stay safe. After healing a survivor, gain a token up the a maximum of 2/3/4. While unhooking a survivor, all tokens are consume, each token Giving a 20% increase to unhooking speed.

Backstory: Emerald Haywood always had a complicated relationship with her father. They didn’t always see eye-to-eye, but they were so similar to each other. So the sudden death of her father left deep scars in her. Being the more charismatic of the two siblings, Emerald became the voice of the ranch, doing what can to get gigs for both the ranch and herself. After so many doors were slammed into her face, it almost seemed like a miracle when a golden opportunity came to them in the form of an UFO. Emerald and her brother risk their lives, mansion to both defeat the alien creature and snap a picture of its existence. From that point on, it seemed everything was finally looking up for Emerald and brother. That is until the night she saw her brother leave the house, running into a fog. She followed him, calling his name and telling him to stop. The morning came, a few reporters came to get statements of the siblings, only to find the house empty.
Perks: Shining Moment, Direct Action, and Worked Up
Shining Moment- You watch the back of others, letting yourself be front and center. You and the obsession gain a 10/15/20% increase in healing speeds when healing each other. If the obsession aura is revealed to the killer while you are within 16 meters of the obsession, your aura will be revealed to the killer instead of the obsession’s. If you are the Obsession, Shining Moment Deactivates. Lowers the odds of becoming the killer’s initial obsession by -100%

Direct Action: You never stop pushing forward. This perk activates when You are on a hook and the killer is within 15 meters of you for 15 seconds. Use the secondary action to kick forward, stunning the killer for 2/2.5/3 seconds. A successful stun with Direct Action will inflict the Mangled status until unhooked and healed. As a cool down of 60 seconds.
“We’re looking for the impossible shot” -Emerald Haywood
Worked Up: When you find an item in a chest, or pick up an item on the ground, you leave no scratch marks, leave no pools of blood and gain a 5% Haste Boost for 10/12/14 seconds.
