Why does the game have a chat filter but no option to just mute a player in (endgame) chat?
Wouldn't it be far better idea if there was an option to just mute a player so you can never read what they say again, be it in end game chat or when you get matched with them as survivor in pre-game chat. Instead we have the worst chat filter there has ever been that on one hand doesn't filter enough and on the other hand filters too much, it is still unbelievable to me that this thing actually made it to live servers considering how terrible it is...But back to the topic: I would like to talk to some of my teammates after a match but without the insults and spamming dozens of messages and the chat of some at most 12 year old child, considering the comically terrible spelling of some words, but there is only all or none: I can close the chat entirely or have to deal with little children spouting nonsense at me.
So i hope the option to mute people finds its way into the game.

Isn’t that what the Block function does when you click on their name?

Nope, not at all sadly... I don't even know what that option does, one guy said it blocks invites and friend requests, but I'm not even sure if thats true...

DBD Block just prevents people from sending you friend requests and invites (i think).
It's practically a useless feature.

I agree, if Block doesn’t also mute the Blocked player in your chat then they should consider adding that functionality. (I’ve never used Block so I have no idea. 🤷♂️)
