Why does Ghost Face's shroud make noise?
In case you didn't know, you can actually hear ghostface when he's within 4-8 meters of you (in stealth). If you've ever wondered why you can never get gen grabs as ghostie, that's why
My question is why? Would he be overpowered without it or what?

I have no clue why every stealth Killer needs to have some kind of proximity sounds to alert Survivors that they're near, it's dumb.
At least it's not as bad as the PTB / release Ghost Face, where he had a 16 / 8 metres of proximity sounds, kinda like Sadako has currently, which was laughably bad.

I second this. Several killers are silent or practically silent on approach, if they have Tinkerer or some other stealth ability, like Myers, Pig, Freddy, Plague, Artist. Why not equalize the sounds?

They say that his new outfit from the rift is completely silent. I still haven't managed to go against him to test if it's op or not.

Cause you can hear every stealth killer. For example, you hear Myers breath. Or Wraith breath... something.
You shouldnt be completly silent. Also, if you approach fast, it doesnt change anything.

That would explain how this match ended up how it did. I got 3 gen grabs in this match.

the thing is myers' and wraiths breathing is literally just breathing. where as ghostie almost has an "environmental sound" if that makes sense
i dont think it matters too much but its just so unnecessary

What does it change, if the sound level is the same?
It is not unnecessary, you should get atleast some counter for being grabbed for example. (Which is already kinda hard, since Gens are loud)

hens tested it and apparently it is silent. its probably just an oversight though so dont get your hopes up

It is not. I played against it and it makes the same sounds.
Idk why would you think it won't make them, these sounds are just part of his proximity ambience, it's not tied to the outfits.

unless youre on a map like lerys theres practically no way for a ghostface to grab you without giving you a small window to react to it

i always figured that the robe itself was making the sounds. guess i was wrong

Counterplay. Just like when you can hear wraith and Myers
3 -
i dont know why people keep bringing myers and wraith up. a wraith has to physically be touching your back in order for you to hear his breathing. as for myers, thats only a real hinderance in t1. after that, you dont have to worry about it

Well myers breathing is lore but ghostface doesnt do any sound.

You can hear wraith form approximately the same distance as ghostface. As for myers he has dead rabbit. Pair that with m&a and his breathing is the only thing that let's you know he's approaching. Not even mentioning scratched mirror and that his power instadowns.

just in case you try to sneak up on people. stealth killers cant be doing that, its why wraith can be heard from 50m away with his loud af mouth breathing
1 -
its silent from his end definitely (no cloak whooshing), and he has no 30m long trails behind him, im not sure how it looks from the survivors end tho

We can't require the survivors to have to move their cameras sometimes while working on generators

If the survivor is frustrated, it may be emphasized.
If there was so little information that they had no idea they were approaching, a large number of the survivor's player base would say it was unfair.

You can hear wraith's very heavy breathing and he emits a slight noise as well. No killer should be 100% silent, even if they are stealth - it's why Spirit's phasing was changed to directional because there is no counter play.

you cant really compare spirit to stealth killers.
