Hyperfocus
So remember before Project W they nerfed the gen speed so it's fair for both sides? Yea it was fair up until they released Project W now the perk just make the gens feel like they were only worked in for 70 seconds can we please get this nerfed

I do think it shouldn't work with toolboxes, otherwise it's fine.

I don't know... Considering killer's regression perks...

It shouldn’t work with toolboxes or stakeout and then it’s fine.
Really hoping they at least address this perk and eruption sometime soon.

No regression perk really stops I've tried them all it is way too strong.

Who complains about Hyperfocus nowadays?
The Perk is totally fine. It was popular for a bit because Wesker was in every game and you ended up on RPD a lot. Wesker (40m TR) + RPD (really small Maps) = lots of Stake Out-Stacks.
Whenever you did not end up on RPD against Wesker, you got a lot less Stake Out-Stacks so it was harder to keep the Hyperfocus-Stacks. You barely see the Perk anymore, because it is not really that good.
Maybe dont rush to the Forums when you just lost a game and spotted that one of the Survivors had Hyperfocus.

I wouldn't be so upset if it didn't apply to tool boxes but with the recent updates like nerfing DS to three second stun and they want prevent tunneling is just odd to me I'm a killer main and all but why nerf a perk that does what it supposed to do? I really wasn't bothered with ds at all and of course I know every one has different feelings for perks and stuff I'm just confused with BHVR after dredge came out I'm starting to see this game is falling apart little by little and I don't want it to.

Does anyone remember when they nerfed, ruin, corrupt, pop and pain resonance so killers wouldn’t be forced run as much slowdowns? Yeah me neither..
5 -
It's weird. These changes were supposed to help both sides pick new builds but like, it's still the same concept of slowdown/speed up
3 -
The only nerf hyperfocus need is to needs is to not work with Toolbox ms other then that it's fine
2 -
see it's balanced just like nurse because it has a skill floor lmao

It is a fairly uncommon meta to be fair. A high risk build with no way to protect yourself from aura readings and no anti/tunnel - endurance perks deserve to skip some gen time. If anything SURVIVOR ITEMS are too common and strong. Specifically medkits and toolboxes deserve to be rebalanced.
These perks are fine enough. Any high risk should be rewarded.
+ gens nerf is insignificant for high mmr. It was a patch to change some overused perks like Ruin or Thana that now are useless. For me, and the mmr which I play, I benefit more from the very little speed up on killer actions. Gens could be 10 seconds longer and at my mmr they still would fly. A 1 minute chase means loosing on big maps if 2 gens are done and there are 4 ppl in the trial.

Imo the only change Hyperfocus needs is hitting good skill checks should remove all your tokens even if you have Stake Out, otherwise it's fine. I would even buff it so you don't lose your tokens if you're interrupted by things that make you scream.
When it comes to the whole 5x toolbox skill check thing I will die on the hill that instead of Hyperfocus not working with toolboxes, they should just remove the 5x skill checks from toolboxes as a whole. I don't think the mechanic makes sense anyways.

Removing the extra skill checks from toolboxes would be good, since that would also stop the wallhacks on demand when Fogwise is released.

I used this perk for three days straight and I can confirm, it is not worth it, unless you use it with stake out, using this perk alone is worth it, this perk is very difficult to use, but guarantees you little result in my opinion

No unless your dealing with Huntress Lullaby or Doc Mc Loves madness getting greats isn't that hard once you learn the timings. I'm a half decent survivor and I can get around 35-40/50 great skillchecks if I really focus. That's why Overcharges "Difficult" skillcheck dosnt affect skilled survivors

Gen regression isn't a cure-all.
0 -
It's a pretty common perk in matches where 3 and 4 survivors got out, like Prove Thyself.
0 -
Almost never see it.
1 -
Hyperfocus + Stake out + Prove Thyself + Fast track. Just try it.

It's not, but there's perks for regression, blocking a gen completely, remotely taking chunks of gen progress, and all of these varieties are currently meta.
We also have zero indication of how the op is playing. An astounding number of players saying 'gen speeds are too fast' are just struggling to put out map pressure. He could be playing a perkless, addonless trapper who doesn't enter chase until every trap is placed and set on the map for all we know.
1 -
I rarely see it, but I think it's a fine perk. Just make it not work with toolboxes, nerf toolboxes in general, and also nerf the most powerful regression perks so 3-4 regression isn't meta.
I mean why does Pain Res still cause screaming? That's info that killers can use. Call of Brine shows you if a gen is worked on. Also info, in a very strong gen regression perk. Eruption scream, also Info. So why run info perks at all when you can stack slowdown?
1 -
It's more common with PC players. Console's fps on skill checks is just jittery enough to where you can't hit greats consistently. Sometimes you can, because the fps on them improves, but that varies patch to patch.

But there's this idea that, even if you're a mediocre killer as you insist the OP is, you can just put on gen defence and reap huge benefits. You don't. You have to fight tooth and nail to get value from regression perks. The gens still get done often enough, and you're playing for barely a 2k with an endgame camp. It's not that hard to play in a safe way as survivor where you just don't go down, and considering most gen regression is dependent on downs and hooks, that's their exploitable weakness.

killers see survivors keep running genrush builds, so they run 4 slowdown. survivors see killers keep running 4 slowdown, so they use genrush builds.
1 -
No, its really just that the devs did a horrible job at "shaking up the meta". If the devs gutted all of the strong gen related perks and catered more towards buffing/making more tracking, chase, and even healing perks, then the meta would have really been shaken up.

Nah, this perk is still too strong when combined with stake out (where the bonus 1% from stake-out is counted as base great skill check value that hyperfocus increases), or when with a commodious with wire spool and socket swivels or another good add-on. It's true that you rarely see it, but that doesn't mean it's not busted. I use it myself sometimes for gen challenges, and can get 50 second gens pretty easily. 70 second gens without the toolbox.
The perk's value being tied to RNG is problematic in itself, like autodidact, but you can just use a toolbox to guarantee you get plenty of skillchecks. And a brand new part gives you two easy tokens to start. There's a reason that most of the fastest escape/gen times in DBD use hyperfocus (the current record doesn't, but would be faster with hyperfocus).

If I see stake out in the shrine I'm getting it and running Hyperfocus for all the killers running gen regression perks, might as well do my part for my team, although it sounds like a build that needs some time to set up, I'll just try something alternative first.

Considering that they are trash now?

Killers can't afford to run anything but regression because of survivors popping gens to quickly.
Maybe nerf one perk and let the meta diversify.

lmao

Shouldn't work with toolboxes, otherwise it's fine imo.
