Kinship/Camaraderie
Since the release of Reassurance, Kinship/Camaraderie seems lackluster. Reassurance can be activated on both hook stages and demand a lot less coordination from a team. There is also no in-game way of communicating Kinship/Camaraderie to your SQ team. What would you think of implementing the changes below to bring the perk to a better place in SQ?
- Upon being hooked, the aura of Kinship Survivor is displayed in yellow instead of red. That way your team knows you have the perk.
- When the perk is activated, the aura of the Kinship Survivor changes to white, similarly to Reassurance.
- Upon deactivating, the aura of the Kinship Survivor reverts to red.
- Kinship can now be activated for each hook instance, instead of only struggle hook.

Kinship also still activates and loses time even if reassurance is used unfortunately

To be fair I feel like even Reassurance is lackluster. With only (and that's already optimistic) one person on the team having the perk, it hardly counters camping at all. 30 seconds once per hook instance is virtually nothing, when taking into account all the time it takes to go there without doing your objective, and then go back, it's basically useless. I'd much rather it having a much longer duration like a minute, and then deactivating in endgame collapse, rather than its current state.

That's assuming you don't get caught by a killer with a quick lethal down just trying to get in range

Im pretty sure the survivor who's running to you get a notification of the perk on their screen if they're in distance of kinship activating. Less demanding than reassurance since it activates at like 16m i believe. But im down for more info being added for the team

True, but I feel like those cases are not really Reassurance's issue but more specific to those killers, if an issue there is. Like, if a Bubba is camping, he can instadown with chainsaw, but that's more an issue on the scale of Bubba rather than on Reassurance in my opinion.

Okay I think I am going to get flamed for this but I am not sure that this will be a good change when looking at all levels of play. Some perks are designed that they will not be used at every level or be more powerful on some than on other. And although in general gameplay I would not be opposed to the upgrade to Kinship, I think it would cause issues of being overtuned on the competitive level if it applied to both hook states. The QoL changes you mentioned with the aura I think would be fine. In addition with regards to balance Kinship has a much larger range than Reassurance requiring much less risk in hook timer.

Kinship/Camaraderie is so bad whenever people talk about it I have to go to the wiki and check what the perk does because I always forget about it.
Ive never used it and I dont think Ive never seen anyone get any value out of it.

I try to use every single perk at least once across all my survivors. I have Kinship in an Object of Obsession & Decisive Strike build, where I expect to get tunneled for it.
The perk hardly ever works. Either the other survivors unhook me regardless of killer proximity and my timer is paused for half a second, or they leave me and never come within activation range.

It's actually far from a bad perk, it's just that you need a variety of celestial objects to align perfectly to actually get anything resembling use out of it with random teammates.
Really should tell everyone that the dude on the hook has the perk ready to be activated at the very least. With that it would immediately be better, obviously you'll never fix someone activating the perk then crouching near the hook for the entire duration anyway even if the killer is a statue but at least then the people that are genuinely trying to play well will have the information to do so.

You're buying 30 seconds for the whole team though, not just for the person who had to run up and use it.

Would be a good QoL change, esp. for solos.
The truth with Reassurance is, even when used right, most solos will farm the hooked surv 10 secs. later anyway, instead of spending the extra 30 secs. on gens. I'd say the real strenght of Reassurance is to prevent the hooked surv going into the next hook state. Works with a good team (even better with communication / SWFs), but better don't count on it solo.

True enough. But considering how reassurance can be useless because soloQ can be clueless and not take advantage of correct usage of the perk... Kinship is absolutely not doing anything. It has same problems as reassurance + some more. I think OP's suggestion would make sense and bring both of these perk on same-ish footing (reassurence having more targets and overall time to use on vs kinship being more selfish version that is easier to actually activate - with exception to these things making them exactly the same = provide clear information the perk is in play and allow it to be activated on both hook states).

Exatcly, Kinship def needs visual feedback added. Then i would even try Kinship + Reassurance in the same build.
