So, does the Entity have an opposing force?

I will admit, I don't really read all of the in game lore. I just tend to play and then get distracted by ten other things, three of which are my kitties. But after Mikaela's release and with the introduction of boons and rift's (I know rifts were around before her), where is the source of power coming from? Is it just the entity giving Mikaela power in order to increase her hope? Does she just have the ability to use natural forces or even unatural forces? Is there another entity that empowers her like with traditional witches?

Is there any info at all, or it is all hush hush with BHVR?

As far as I've come to understand there is no opposite or nothing stated or implied. There are characters that have fought with the entity for escape but we don't know what's happend to them.

I would like to think there's something else that has the opposite effect maybe it lives off happiness. The entity imo seems much like a primal force something that has always been and always will be and there's some sort of opposite to balance it out.

The dark side of the force is a pathway of many abilities some consider to be unnatural.

Isn't Kate supposed to be some kind of Entities nemesis? Not saying she's the opposite god like force but ye.

The entity does not have an enemy who is it's direct equal in power so far, closest we've come to in terms of fighting back is the missing parents of the pariahs with the tools or weapons they were wielding to save Felix and Elodie before disappearing.

The closest thing I can think of is losing all hope. When you are completely broken and just don't care anymore about escaping, that's the entity's weakness. The entity needs hope to feed off of, but if you aren't hopeful at all, it has no use for you. That's when it sends broken survivors to The Void, which I have limited information about. I believe a survivor named vigo? Not entirely sure who it was, used the blight purge the entity goes through yearly to leave the void.

With that being said, if everyone lost hope, the entity would starve itself to death and potentially even purge them back to their original worlds since it doesn't have enough energy to keep these survivors. Heck, it might kill all the survivors with its death. This is just a theory.

The collective unconscious composed by all SWAT Bully squads made of Neas, Fengs and Dwights with ugly cosmetics psyches is the oposing force against the Entity. The Entity footsoldiers are the Killers, whose job is to terrorize the Survivors so it can feed on their emotions, the bully squads are the exact opposite, their job is to terrorize Killers and their emotions must be feeding an antagonizing force.

And seeing the forums I think they are doing a pretty good job so far, whatever this "antientity" is must be fatter than a pig the day before slaughter.

The Entity could never really be starved to death because even if everyone lost hope and was flushed into the void, it can always just find new Survivors from the endless number of worlds within the multiverse to feed upon.

Same thing how Killers who can kill Survivors without a hook doesn't really make much difference for the Entity since the number of trials happening all at once is potentially endless.

Once universe experiences heat death and all matter is gone , so will life and entity itself. But considering the thing only bothers several humans at the time from a planet of 7 billion I would say that chairs and bath tubs are a bigger danger to humanity as they kill more annually. Entity might as well be ignored completely , it is not even relevant enough to be a pest to a small town.

From my understanding of the lore, DBD matches the place In a alternate universe/reality and its kind of like the movie "Groundhogs Day" where matches keep repeating themselves in a endless cycle of despair and false sense of hope knowing even if you escape the match you're only going to be thrown in another one with a different killer/map and on and on......

Then again, this may be totally wrong and just something I like to believe because I like the concept of it.

There's nothing mentioned yet, but predators and prey always adapt. The Entity would have evolved from the abundance of a food source available, and likewise when a predator evolves to consume more and more, eventually the prey adapts, or at least the biology changes (becomes more toxic, develops various defences). This may explain the purge that ised to happen.

Basically, its opposing force will most likely come from the prey it feeds upon, rather than another being. And if there is another being, it would ne a rival for the same food source, that somehow becomes stronger to the point it may hunt the Entity.

Yes, the Entity is always looking for new victims, but that also takes energy to do since it has to rip through time and space, going through dimensions, to kidnap a survivor to its realm.

This could lead to an attrition battle between broken survivors and the Entity. If the survivors lose all hope, or stopped playing the Entity's game — there's a small chance it will not be always to keep up with amount of broken survivors compared to hopeful survivors. End result, the Entity will cease to exist, taking all the survivors with it — killing everyone.

As for escaping alive, that's a different story. However, it's totally possible, if you were able to enter the Entity's realm, then there must be an exit. My guess, it will have something to do with the Observer because they are in a pocket dimension that shields them from the sick and twisted games of the Entity.

Since your theory is based on the idea that the number of Survivors who loses hope would happen more often than the number of Survivors who maintain hope or outweighs the number of new Survivors the entity can manage to abduct, i see a few problems with it.

    • Since we don't really know the full extend of who, what and how the Entity is as a whole, it's possible that even if there were to be a shortage in Survivors to feed upon, the Entity could still have other potential unknown ways or means to sustain itself.
    • Who's to say that it's ability to travel through the multiverse would even require any energy on it's part and that it's powerful enough to do it without using much energy or any at all?
    • Since the Entity has existed for god knows how long now and that time works differently in the fog, if the possibility of it ever starving to death because of a Survivor shortage so serious actually existed, i think it would have already happened and seeing how there still is a seemingly endless number of Survivors both playable and unseen ones who refuses to break down into an empty shell and get cast into the void, i don't think it'll actually ever happen (also if it were to happen and the entity would die, the game would end also.)

The devs has said in the past that there is currently no known means to escape as of yet. I imagine that the only actual way to really escape is if the Entity decides to cast you out on purpose for whatever reason, however even if there is a means to escape fog without the entity wanting so, then it would probably be something that would break the minds of most people to do, just like how Tomas lost his mind after being cast out of the fog for Talbot to find him in Blight's 2nd tome story.

Also what if the pocket realm isn't actually shielded from the entity? It's stated by the Observer in one of the tome entries that the possibility of the entity having either ignored him on purpose or having simply just been toying with him for all this time.
