Entity bless his soul, survivors will be comfortable sitting on gens and see him placing down traps, taking notes.

That's seems unlikely. What are the odds you get a skill check and hit the great the exact moment trapper put down the trap to see it.
People are over exaggerating thinking this perk is the new old object.

You forget to realize how poor people's memories are. I can forget a trap like 5 seconds later and run into it. More realistically, 30 seconds or so.

Hardly, it would be incredibly broken having tons of skillchecks with boosted progress AND wallhacks on the Killer (because let's be honest, 95% of people running that combo could hit greats with their eyes closed)
