Billy tips for non 'Milly' plays?

Been taking full advantage of the PTB bots to learn Billy as I got his adept a long time ago and he has been absolutely destroyed since then.

I don't want to M1 but finding it really hard to control him, as it feels like I have little control of his rushes and I am pretty much along for the ride more than anything. The bots will dodge left or right and while I learned to predict that it feels like I have no real control to adjust.

Any tips would be appreciated as finding him really hard to deal with when not resorting to M1's

And how stupid is the overheat and the stun when you inevitably hit something?!

Go to settings and put "controller sensitivity" at 100% (if you still haven't), helps how much you can curve with billy for some reason, even on pc.

I recommend one green engraving + recovery addon, curves without at least one engraving is pointless since the survivors can react to that speed.

Other than that its just muscle memory and getting used to the timing/looking at the bar.

The bots are gonna be different from real players anyway but me personally I use to have Billy as one of my mains he still isn't as bad as some people say but if you were good with Billy you used the saw alot and that grunt before the sprint is possibly one of the most annoying things they could've done for anyone playing him as a main it started giving me headaches eventually, but as for tips practice with a friend in the lobby with the bots and practice saw control in medium range loops like a truck or car loop , and once you get it down you'll be able to saw almost around the car and get them with some pretty insane shots it almost looks like you make a c without looping wide and get them on the opposite back corner that most survivors don't realize you can hit with precision, another one is to play meme builds and have a saw only rule in pubs and try to win while never m1 , you can turn the endgame chat off and just go wild , eventually you'll be hitting those cracked shots and winning without really sweating or at least that's how I learned Billy back in the day

Hmm yeah tried that but it still feels extremely difficult to have any real control over him. I honestly don't know how people play him but I guess I will try more

I mean, you should never not M1. That's why Killers have the option to do so.

But I guess if you want to use Chainsaw only, prepare to lose... alot.

Other than that, just practice and use good Add-ons. Cuz M2 only with basekit Billy is quite difficult.

Thanks and yeah the bots definitely don't behave like real opponents but they give me something to target at the very least.

You are right though, I should try curving around objects more than anything as I find that really hard and often end up hitting everything, which is obviously not good with Billy since the penalty for bumping into stuff is pretty brutal (and frustrating).

You're setting yourself up for failure. If people know you don't m1 at all, they'll easily camp windows and pallets. There'll be barely anything you can do about it, unless the loop is curvable.

Billy is still solid. You should not avoid M1ing too hard. Obviously, going for Chainsaws is most of the time the better way and more fun, but overcommitting to the Chainsaw will just bring you Overheat.

Personally, I run Engravings and the Junkyard Air Filter. This is basically my go-to Combo for Billy and it works. Also, I recommend Shadowborn on him. It makes the Chainsaw better to use in my opinion since the main thing which annoyed me was the FoV-Change. With Shadowborn you can negate that to an extend, which makes it more enjoyable to use the Chainsaw.

If you are at the point where you can curve consistently I recommend giving his engravings a go. It makes Billy even harder but it allows him to get hits where survivors would otherwise just go out of the way. Also you should give it a go against real survivors and try some mind games while still holding your chainsaw. From what I've seen that doesn't work too well against bots. Also there are some loops where you have no collision like the snow covered tables on Ormond. That allows you to go for curves where the survivor has very little counterplay. Try to identify those spots.

If you still have trouble with curving or feathering, practise that until you can rely on muscle memory alone. Also it pays off to learn where to use the chainsaw for map mobility for maximum range. For example you can around Rotten Fields in circles without ever letting go. Some other maps allow for that as well but its harder.

bot are way different compared to real players all i can say is watch Getvel Billy guide on YT

its basically learning the timings for corners and learning what you can slide off in the map so you dont hit objects.

Ive had many games where billy just throws the game just learn how to get people around the corners of jungle gyms

if youre backrevving someone and they do the weird spins, use your movement - not your turning - to line them up with the saw. if you use turning you might overflick with the saw and go to a different dimension, but if you use movement you wont steer with the saw so you will just saw forward into them

Thanks for all the tips, I think I have a bit to try here so will do that.

Think I need to just practice curving more than anything as I am getting stuck where I know decent Billy's I have faced have done perfectly well

This is true but if you're just learning the saw and not worried about all that then who cares? OP simply wants to get better with the saw it doesn't mean that he'll never m1 in a real match at some point, and going saw only alot of times is a lot of fun with survivors, they'll catch on and play around with you once they realize you're a saw only Billy practicing and if they don't you can always turn chat off I mean who cares everyone starts somewhere

MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT AN IDIOT LIKE ME AND TURN THE KILLERS SENSITIVITY UP AND NOT THE SURVIVORS

Also just practice billy is THE most mechanic killer in the game, you will fail a lot if you're trying to curve. Just don't care about the outcome
