RIP Stadia DBD
Im going to be honest, I have only ever met 1 person who actually used Stadia. I think over the past few years, a lot of people just completely forgot that it even existed since Stadia really went under the radar despite the large amount of advertising. It was a product that most people just never really cared for.
I think it's core concept is unique but the modern market just couldnt ever support it, it was always going to fail in my opinion, but regardless, it's not a justification for all of this. I feel really bad for the people affected by this.
For all the Stadia users out there, I really do wish you the best of luck with all of this, Im hoping BHVR gets this all sorted out so the remaining Stadia players can properly transition, I know stuff like this can be complicated, so it's probably stressful for both BHVR and the players to get this done before the deadline, especially when there is not too much time left.
Im hoping yall can find a good platform that can physically and financially support it's players. o7

I’m surprised it took this long honestly.

Yea, I kind of expected it to go sooner than now, it's impressive really. Google was really relentless at trying to get the platform to work.

Google Stadia is a cloud-based gaming service. Instead of playing a game on a Console, you stream the game.
Positives:
- You can play on any device.
- Downloading is non-existent, so you can just play when you want to.
Negatives:
- You dont actually own the games you pay for, you just own the right to stream/play them, so when Stadia dies, you lose everything.
- Takes a lot of bandwidth since you are streaming the game.
- It's going to be shutdown in 2023.

thanks for the explanation ^^

The idea at its core was pretty cool: instead of needing an ultra advanced gaming rig costing 1500+ to play the latest games in highest settings you could just play on your non-gaming laptop while he Heavy lifting was done by the stadia service, but sadly it didn't got any traction.
I think I once looked at it way back and wasn't impressed by the pricing, but I don't know how the things were the last couple of years.

I'm just happy they're gonna implement cross progression again yay

It's too bad about Stadia. It had the best performance out of all the streaming services I tried. Geforce Now probably has the best model as you own the games you stream.

I was using Stadia since June 2022. Since I don't think my old computer could have handled DBD using Steam. I loved stadia never had any issues. Unless someone in my house was watching Netflix. Sad its gone.

I’m just glad cross progression is returning. Means I can finally play on steam and not epic games

Cross Progression is only for Stadia to PC I believe. I do not think it is there for other platforms yet.

It's basically all of the PC platforms. Steam, Epic, and Stadia. Although Windows Store doesn't seem to be included.
