Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

My suggestions for the game.

Hello there hope everybody has a nice day.

I wanted to give some of my feedback as a person who mainly plays killer (but also survivor a bit).

I am pretty sure that everybody who has played killer and has a relatively high mmr as killer knows how frustrating is to go against decent to good survivors who are SWF and just genrush the whole game and if you start tunelling and camping (as you don’t really have any other choice) you get flamed in the end chat.

I think the current state of the game for killer is not really healthy and at times it feels really tiring and my suggestion for less tunelling and for the issue of genrushing is once you hook a survivor that survivor receives a speed repair gen penalty maybe 25% (dunno about the exact numbers) and on 2nd hook it would be more so it makes the killer to go for survivors who haven’t been hooked yet so they can also receive that speed gen penalty.

This makes the killer to not tunnel a survivor and make them 75% slower on gens from the get go(if he tunnels and kills one survivor) but makes it so he can get that slower repair speed just by hooking individual survivors.

Not to mention that i don’t really like the way that survivors can repair a gen in just a few seconds nor that they spawn sometimes next to a gen and they just can start repairing one.

I would like also if survivors as their main objective of the game is to repair gens to be more challenging and not just hitting some easy skill checks , so it makes it harder for them and I would say more entertaining achieving something harder because as killer you need to track so many stuff compared to a survivor (how many hooks, progress of gens, bad zones to chase, using your abilities properly, mind gaming, keeping track of what survirors have as perks and items, etc)

On top of that for swf groups one think that could maybe help and make it more balanced is that people can't have same perks and they need to have different perks to queue up as a group or if you are in a group you have some speed gen penalty or something to compensate for having the communication with your teammates.

Lastly some maps are really unbalanced for some killers (and I guess some goes for survivors too) , I would like if something could be done about this too so both sides are on equal level and there is not imbalances so both sides are happy and whatever killer you play you don’t feel that you are on a disadvantage from the start of the game(I doubt anything will be done about this tbh).

I recently got fed up with the state of the game for survivors. Every killer just camps and tunnels and it's not fun at all. The game is becoming really stressful. So to enjoy myself I swapped to killer. For last about half a week I played about 100 matches. Out of which I would say 80% were 3-4K (that one missing is usually hatch as I don't slug for 4K or if survivors tried really hard, I will leave the last one escape) and it's not even rare to win on 5-3 generators left.

The point is - after winning so many games in a row I am already high MMR. The games are not very difficult if you take good killer (say twins or wesker, but sure enough I would struggle on pig or ghostface) with a few slowdowns and 1 info or chase perk. Even if I am positive, that I am better survivor then killer, my escape rate on survivor would be 40% in SWF during better days. When I play killer (it was exclusive for last 2 days), it's rare that I really need to sweat really hard. I take good perks, but brown or yellow addons and I make it my rule to not camp or tunnel (tunnel means going after freshly unhooked. Once he heals or starts doing gens, I don't care any more. As for camp - if I see someone coming to hook, I will not turn around. If I hook someone into my 3gen, then tough luck for survivors because I will patrol my gens).

What I am trying to say - stop buffing killers please. Right now every killer that has 300+ hours is already high MMR. It's starting to become boring at this point. I purposefully need to take me to garden of joy or some other strong map so that I can still have a challenge. On the other hand you need to play super effective/sweaty on survivor to at least have some chance to see gates powered.

How exactly do you know that you are in high MMR?

There is no doubt that camping and tunneling need to be nerfed. And that at the very least eruption also needs to be nerfed. But I find it hard to agree that DBD is killer sided at the moment. If you do factor camping and tunneling in, then maybe it is slightly killer sided. On average. But in general, both roles generally have a fair chance of winning. Killer can still be very challening if you go against an actual good survivor team. Maps in particular are still a sore spot for killers.

Solo survivors are the ones that are in need of help the most at the moment. But arguably one of the biggest problems in DBD at the moment isn't even the game's balance, but the matchmaking. Besides camping and tunneling of course, but those are problems beyond balance, it's less about those tactics being too strong (though they are), and more about just being so unfun and cheap to go against.

When data miners mined and published information, somebody calculated, that you need 20-40 wins to reach top MMR. I already did more and did not start from new account. So if something did not change in the meantime, or if the cap did not go way up, then I should be high MMR at this point (because there is no higher MMR). It does not mean I can win against everyone, or that I am exceptionally good. It obly means that any more wins will not change how MM chooses my opponents any more. But sure, it's only guess on my side (by me trusting unofficial information given).

I will also agree, that killer CAN be challenging. Even if I do things correctly and don't make mistakes, I still loose sometimes. But it's rare. There are not that many Ayruns and Hences and so on to actually be able to break 3-gen against M2 wesker with 3 regression perks (maybe I should reduce this to actually have a challenge). Most of survivors will just not be good enough.

But it might be, that I played survivor too much and know what to expect. Anyway, I had so many wins recently, that it does not feel fair. But maybe it was luck or something. Maybe I will change my mind. Right now I am totally fed up with taking all the losses as survivor and winning all the time on killer feels good for a change.
