What's up with Garden of Joy?
I don't know whether or not this is a bug but apparently there's a giant ass bush that sticks out next to the window by the shack. You can't walk through it either, it's just a giant obstruction and I don't know if that's because the map generation is wigging out or it's been put there on purpose. I bumped into it without even realizing the first time and even one of the other survivors ran right into it too without knowing. I kinda hope this wasn't done on purpose because this is kind of awful and I'd rather not have a million of garden of joy map offerings used from here on out.

Yep had this too. It just makes an already strong structure for survivors even stronger. Which is not good.
Map generation seems to be messed at the moment anyways. I have seen multiple instances of objects spawning too close to loops again. It looks like you can go between the loop and the object, but you can't. It just makes loops bigger and therefore safer as well, though of course only if the survivor is aware of that and doesn't get stuck.

I’ve suddenly seen this three times in the last week and was wondering the same thing. Once it was right by the window and the other time it was right by the door

How does a rock in the way make it stronger? If anything, that's more distance for a Survivor to travel to loop around the shack, allowing you more time to catch up.

Survivors can loop more tightly and against some killer powers it easier to dodge with something like that

It also makes the loop longer so if you vault from inside the killer can’t mind game it and has to walk around a giant bush, giving you another free vault.

Every map has this bug, where props (i.e. trees, rocks, etc.) are spawning in unusual ways next to tiles when they shouldn't be. Supposedly this will be fixed next patch. So, so many fat shame spots have been created due to this map generation bug too. Good riddance.

I want to know, why is it lighter than it used to be inside the house?

I checked this with a friend and we loaded a costume game 5 times and got this every time.
When testing it we quickly saw how absurd this structure had become: You have no way to mindgame it as the survivor can see you through windows the entire time, the vault is super safe by this in both directions as suddenly you can take it from the inside and the outside with no lost distance and you still have the basic shack benefits...
This is an atrocity of a loop.
Normally a survivor looses distance when they try to fast vault the window by going into shack as the Killer can just walk close to shack while the survivor has to go a bit off to make the angle right. This bush changes that: The natural angle is now a fast vault inwards.
The survivor now has a super safe position where they can wait: Right in front of the window. You will always see what the Killer is doing as this particular shack has glass windows and you can see through between the bush and the shack. Most quick hits on shack are thanks to a mind game and this make the tile not mind-gameable.

Isn't Garden of Joy the name of a place on Bioshock?

Only thing that comes to mind is the gatherer's garden, because the other related stuff would be arcadia.
