That’s a fair point. When people buy DLC chances are they’ll go licensed because you can’t get it for free. RE survivors are super common due to most RE fans already playing lots of video games so the transition isn’t difficult

Aww poor Haddie mains lmao (I didn't know they even existed tbh).

Her problem is she is incredibly hard on the eyes and the reality is people will just choose better looking options instead of putting money into something that is unappealing at its core. I am sure BHVR have stats on whose cosmetics sell and therefore are worth putting time into making more cosmetics that will probably sell poorly.

She isn't the only survivor that is unappealing to the eye but she is arguably the least appealing lol

The only character in this game I think the "unappealing to look at" thing might apply to is Twins

And that's only because of the obvious, she has a massive gaping hole in her torso with a little gremlin sticking out. Even the sound that plays when you unbind victor is gross as hell, it sounds like a bone being snapped in half

Also haha guys we gave the male survivor a shirtless cosmetic we're so cool, ok now give us your money you predictable creatures

I mean they know their playerbase well, they know a hot, shirtless man will make them $$$

Chicken or egg? She's not played because she doesn't have cosmetics. People like to act like they're not birds and cosmetics as shiny objects, but that is absolutely the case. Lots of customization options = popular; you seeit everywhere across the industry and beyond. Once they are established, then the cycle starts to feed itself (i.e. Feng, Kate, etc.).

If you release a character with a bunch of cosmetics and/or support them early, they will sell and get play. Don't, and they won't. Not giving a character cosmetics early is the kiss of death, and it's absolutely something BHVR has a large degree of control over.

My proposal has been that each new character release with no fewer than 4-6 unique, distinct cosmetic sets (not recolors). Do that, and you won't see what we have seen with Haddie and others, or at least to the same degree. Give them a chance.

Quentin and Laurie were across the board visual abominations before they were reworked. All they need to do with Haddie is make her in game model look more like her profile pic, which is actually pretty great.

NGL, I committed pretty hard to being a Haddie main when she dropped because she was visually distinct and had amazing lore; time had obviously been spent on her concept. I thought for sure BHVR would push her.

I've backed off a bit, but I still hold out hope they'll come around on this.

What got me is her "hair" cosmetics. They literally change her earrings. T.T They didn't even bother to like change her hair stripe color. XD *is Haddie main*

Don't be so quick to go straight for laziness, BHVR might just not have a strong reason to rework Haddie (other than to make her an aesthetic queen)

For me I’ve never cared for her look.

I don’t know how someone who can overlap between realities has a boring look consisting of jeans and sneakers.

A far big difference from Mikaela (who I didn’t even care for at first) but I love now and you can tell right away she has witch vibes. OR Zarina who was an investigator as well who was into film, and you can definitely get that from her outfits.

Like it or not Haddie left a lot to be desired and it has nothing to do with her roots. I love that she is of Indian descent and that she is a freaking psychic (side note my favorite x men are psychics 😄) She had a lot of potential but I feel her look was not it for me.

Maybe they will come up with better looks for her in the future.

I keep seeing this arguments, but in reality no one forced BHVR to push her out after so much hype with underwhelming cosmetics and very few choices. To me it seems they didn't even try with her.

Thing is new cosmetics are exactly what sge needs to reach her potential but since her initial play rate is low due to lack of cosmetics she's going to get very little

Yeah, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy where, if you do a weak launch for a character and don't invest in them at the beginning, they don't get popular, and then them being unpopular is an excuse not to invest in them later.

I wish that Haddie's default look had been cooler or that she had launched with cosmetics that show off different aspects of her lore and character design instead of just recolours. I also wish she looked more like the cinematic trailer in-game, because she looks great in that.

I also like the design for Vittorio and I like his launch cosmetics -- but it's kind of a bummer that whoever made this decision decided to throw a lot of resources at making one of these characters popular and not the other.

The way they do some characters is a shame. My boy Adam finally got a cosmetic after OVER a year dry spell. I've seen how cosmetic releases have changed player pick rates. If they gave Haddie, Adam, Jane, Jonah, and Elodie nice, creative or playful outfits more people would choose them. At this point I'm tired of outfits having to stick with the lore of the character. Just give everyone a playful pajama set for Christmas. Who cares if they are an explorer, herbalist, actor, artist, or musician. Maybe the call for community artists to work with devs will infuse new life into characters that fall out of favor. Then we can stop seeing Meg-Feng-Nea-Dwight-Mikeala-Kate on repeat.
