Basement nerf?
It sure feels like they did more than widen the stairs. The whole basement is bigger and it sure feels like the hooks are further from the steps. Which is HUGE. Making the basement before was always a riskier play now its even harder to make? I downed someone on the top of the house in red forrest and ONE single body block hit that I landed INSTANTLY was enough for me to not make it. HOW!? I am right there!
I hope it's just an illusion but I doubt it. The basement isn't even what it used to be. You literally got Borrowed Time making getting out of the basement far easier than before.

If that's true, it's kinda both a nerf and a buff. It might make it a bit harder to get to the hook as killer, but it also makes it that much harder for survivors to get out of basement too.

The distance from hooks from the base of the stairs has definitely increased by 1 or 2 metres. It might not sound like much but it can make a huge difference when other survivors are bodyblocking and/or the killer is forced to use the basement because there are no other hooks available nearby.

You do realize the longer it takes for you to get to a hook in the basement the longer it takes a Survivor to get out, right?

I get your thinking but no it isn't. The killer makes those hooks by a fraction of a second all the time. For a survivor trying to get out of the basement the size doesn't matter at all. Unless we're talking DOUBLING the size of the stairs or something.

Exactly even one meter is MASSIVE. I've made that hook by a fraction of an inch like 5,000 times. As survivor I have FAILED to escape that grasp wit ha fraction of a second left 5,000 times. As well as escape with that second to spare many many times. Overall its HUGE and ironically ENCOURAGES survivor body blocking.....

They've also removed the see through sections of the wall at the bottom of the stairs. Insidious camping basement bubbas will be in heaven
