bhvr does everything slowly and calmly, don't rush things
the shi... soloq is just on fire, almost every round a bad player dies in 10 seconds and then kills himself on the hook or dct in, thanks bhvr you know what? Like all other experienced survivors, I only play swf or if I may quote a person "play another game" I also advise that, you just can't give yourself that anymore, bhvr just doesn't do anything and if they want to do something at some point , it takes a very, very long time
either the MM will finally really be measured by skill so that you don't get matched with any bad players, I mean its way better and i prefer waiting minutes in the queue for a lobby to match with real well player, than being matched with these noobs who go down in 10sec and ragquite, or finally something will be done for the soloq and it will be playable again, but until then I'm out others can annoy themselves with it
im out

Honestly, what helped me as a solo player was letting go of the goal of escaping. Now, a successful game to me is simply one where i pulled my weight, pipped, and walked away with decent bp. Escape is a bonus. The game genuinely became more enjoyable after that. And it also helps when I get those potato team mates too, as I find them more amusing rather than frustrating. I know that train of thought isn't possible for everyone, but it's definitely what keeps me interested.

So you dont expect to win anymore, and find fun constantly losing to killer
5 -
Well that's what saved many fair playing killers from burning out. Stop caring about kills. So when killer can do that why shouldn't some survivor accept it?

It's almost like SBMM doesnt work and people are getting thrown in matches they shouldn't be in...
Even though theres so excuse to give up or DC and I wish people stopped supporting that action having bad matchmaking is definitely not helping game outcomes.
But with bad matchmaking and people giving up/DCing you cant expect to win every match.
Was having this conversation earlier with someone who said X should be nerfed because as survivor you often get paired with far weaker teammates against a good killer. And to I'll say the same thing here, you cant expect to win if your team has weaker players especially if someone gives up or DCs... quite simple because if people then do actually play or get matched correctly the games awfully balanced.
Matchmaking needs to be fixed, and people that DC or give up should be forced to play together after so many instances.

See you tomorrow

Yep SBMM is hot trash. I have to lobby dodge now to get a game that's even remotely winnable because of their backfilling where they throw any player to the wolves. Sucks that I have to burn 2 to 3 minutes of my time a lobby going shopping

Solo queue can be fun when you don’t worry about winning or losing. Try out some fun builds and focus on doing archive challenges
That’s what has kept me sane for 2000 hours of solo queue

thats exactly what im doing for soloQ. But i need to transfer this mindset over to killer side because i tend to get sweaty for sacrifices there. And it can not always go well XD

You’re doing really the only thing that can be done to force change. From BHVR’s perspective, if the player count is stable or growing, then there’s no problem and they’ll continue to work on whatever they feel like rather than what the community are asking for. There’s no incentive for them to do otherwise until they start losing a significant number of players

A big part of the problem is how BHVR de-tuned SBMM since they launched it. They essentially said to solo survivors: "You will NOT play this game with a competitive mindset and you WILL enjoy it! You will play it our way." Well...a huge portion of my games have disconnects and rage quits.
We still get the same omega sweat killers, but our teammates are likely half as capable as they were when SBMM launched because the soft cap dropped by 300 points. I'd consider half of my games unplayable.

I don't go in expecting to win, no. If I do it's nice bonus bp. Framing it as 'having fun losing' is odd, as I'm having fun regardless of whether I win or lose. I'm enjoying the game regardless of the outcome.

It's really self-preservation at the end of the day

100% this. I haven’t been playing very long, but as soon as I moved to this train of thought, the game became so much more enjoyable. If I escape it feels like a bonus. But if I had a good game, got some decent points and had a few good moves to help teammates.. it’s a win regardless if I escaped.

The games skill floor to skill ceiling ratio is way too large for the size of the playerbase, asymmetrical games are doomed to fail like that. Dbd has only survived as long as it has due to the Liscenses, but I honestly sense the games nearing it's death. I used to look at this game with awe and excitement. Now, all I feel is disgust for what an absolute mess it is.

im here since april and this last update, not only the killer, but also the GAMEBREAKING bugs, state of penalties right now and lack of communication really made me calculate how much money ive put into this game. I was really enjyoing it most of the time, sure you get sweaty here and there but overall i like both sides and can have my enjoyment. I was super happy about the bots..
But it was a short high, im alredy into something else and hoping they at least fix stuff soon and give us the old penalties back cause rn its unplayable. Worst of all is their absolute sloppyness in terms of communication, my issiues got ignored for 2 weeks just so i could get some standard phrase that didnt even answer my questions in the first place.. I will keep an eye out and judging how they go with this but honestly if i could have refund i would.

That's all fine and dandy, the issue is more that the main reason why camping and tunneling is ever so effective is due to a massive gap of information. DBD has been balancing killers with SWF in mind, but they haven't been balancing too much with Solo in mind.
I remember a statement about a year and a half ago where they said straight up aura reading between characters(aka bond with infinite range) would be too much info and would be somewhat exploitable. But I've played some matches where I used Bond and Open Handed for maximum range reading while using small maps. It honestly was fine. And I had done it on comms too. All that changed was having to explain my position if people wanted to take a hit(especially if people weren't familiar with a specific map). The only reason I would state against it, is because it would make quite a lot of perks useless(Kindred, Situational Awareness, Empathy, Empathic Connection, Aftercare and No One Left Behind)
Right now, I think the best thing to do is simply make the "patchwork" perks basekit for survivors. Aka, if a SWF can easily call it out, it shouldn't be a perk. So let's look at the full list by placing the perk next to a call out:
1. Buckle Up - "I'm (roughly) at X%, you can/can't pick me up"
2. Better Together(or Situational Awareness) - "I'm on the gen near X, come help me/don't lead the killer here"(not including the aura reading ofcourse)
3. Empathy/Empathic Connection - "Let's meet up and heal near X"
4. Bond(sort off), I just wish there was a survivor instinct button. So you could press it and you get a survivor heartbeat on where they roughly are. You can even add a killer heartbeat if they are within 16 meter of a hooked survivor. Giving effectively kindred to survivors, without giving away auras

Yes, it was during the 2021 anniversary stream they spoke about an info update for solo and then it went on the back burner for some reason. I'm assuming because they wanted to prioritise increasing kill rates, and they needed solo to remain as is for that. I thankfully don't get too many tunnelling or camping killers in my games. Whether it's my region or MMR I'm not sure, but I started keeping track of my games and I average about 3 tunnelling killers in every 40 games.
