Are Aura Colors Ever Going to Get Fixed?
I use aura-reading perks pretty frequently and I've noticed that the color choices for various things are horrible.
Hooks, generators and hatch are all red which makes Clairvoyance unnecessarily hard to use.
Survivors, pallets, vaults and breakable doors are all yellow which makes Windows of Opportunity hard to use with Bond, Kindred or Empathy.
Am I the only person bothered by this stuff? I imagine the colorblind community is pretty disheartened too but I don't know. Is there any word on how far off the devs are from addressing this, if at all? I would love to hear from anybody with intel or even just opinions...

I agree. I'm not colorblind but it can be confusing and annoying. I appreciate Detective's Hunch having the totems and chests be pink, so they stand out more. Also those two things are very differently shaped. Kindred is good for that too, with the killer being pink and the survivors being yellow.
Its the same with killer and gens and surv auras being the same. I usually run into it with BBQ & Chili but I imagine other aura reading perks have similar issues. Also hooks being the same color as gens, can make it hard to distinguish if you're just having a look around while carrying a survivor. I know these are rare/only a few perk type situations but its ubiquitous enough that it probably wouldn't hurt to change.
Its not a high priority thing but it does feel like a qol thing that would be nice to have changed.

The whole gen and survivor aura’s being the same seems intentional. Hiding behind gens is one of the main counters to such perks

The aura colours are meant to be contextual.
Red = objectives (gens, hooks, dying survivors)
Yellow = interactions (vaults, pallets, gens you need to repair, other survivors)
White = unique/modified (special hooks, blocked gens, degrading items, etc.)
It's intentional that certain things have the same colour aura, also you're not meant to rely solely on the colour to discern what t is, you need to identify the shape as well, as Phasmamain pointed out, hiding behind gens is a legitimate counter to aura reading.
There are a couple things I would change though. Windows of Opportunity should display breakable walls in white, while Zanshin Tactics should display undropped pallets in white. In each case these are the things you can't interact with, but look similar from a distance.

Imo the aura colors are fine overall.
But I wouldn't mind maybe a different color for the hatch, bc as op mentioned when using clair or a rainbow map, it can be really hard to recognize the hatch with so many other red auras of hooks and gens.
And like @Seraphor wrote, WoO should display breakable walls different to standing pallets. How often the perk has fooled me when playing on The Game ...

I'd say an open hatch should be yellow, and a closed hatch should be white.
While it's technically still an objective, it's also something you should want to interact with above other options. Plus it doesn't count as a true escape (according to MMR and stats) so it should be considered a side objective to actually escaping via an exit gate.

It'd be nice if some perks had at least an alt color layout if you're running two+ that use the same color.
Like running Eruption and Surveillance together. Someone stopped a gen from regressing? Yellow. You kicked a gen? Also yellow. If it wasn't for Discord's initial explosion to set it apart you could add it's yellow in as well.

Yeah, Surveillance together with eruption or call of brine does not eally work at all bc of the auras. Thats really sad.
Now I'm thinking about using Eruption, Call of brine, Discordance and Surveillance all together and look how much it confuses me xD.
