Time limited cosmetics make me mad.
All this complaining about cosmetics has gotten me fired up.
Do you like Egg nog? I know I do.
Doesn't it frustrate you when you cant get egg nog? I hate it.
Join me in boycotting all grocery stores that don't sell Egg nog year round.
We are all in this together, lets end the tyranny of the grocery store and their FOMO tactics.

I wonder if ppl get frustrated if holiday starbucks drinks were only available....during the holiday.
Do they just find something else to drink when its not the holiday. I know! Maybe they should just get other skins thats available thats not holiday exclusive!

"Doesn't it frustrate you when you cant get egg nog? I hate it".
I unironically think this, It's why I learned how to make egg nog.

When I was a kid apple cider was only available in the fall, now I see it in stores year round because people like drinking apple cider year round. Quite a few of the smaller dairy farms in my area sell egg nog year round because people will buy it outside the Christmas season. Theres a local mom/pop ice cream shop that changes up their ice cream weekly and atleast once a month offers eggnog hard ice cream or soft serve - getting their version of a DQ blizzard using the eggnog soft serve and their fresh brownies is wicked tasty.
It's great when you aren't limited to one time of year to enjoy things and you are free to enjoy them anytime instead.

Sometimes that's ok, but I have a different take. A lot of times, I do not like having things whenever I want. There's a reason why I like eating turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes and stuffing during Thanksgiving-- why I like seeing Christmas lights on houses up and down the block during December-- why I give my baby girl a big egg full of apple Jolly Ranchers every Easter. It makes things special. I like special.
In this case-- these cosmetics -- I like having them available during a certain time because it gives them worth. I had no reason to get a whole lot of cosmetics before because I could usually get them at any time. After looking up what was leaving for a year, I had to dish out a bunch of shards to get Claudette's sweater, Dwight's gift box and jingly jester pants. Now they're special to me because I made an effort to get them before they were gone. I still want other #########, like Claudette's Christmas hat, but that's just the way it is. Maybe it will give me some purpose to play more to earn it. I like that.

I've had completely different experience. Thanksgiving turkey was always the worst turkey dinner of the year, thankfully my parents did turkey dinners outside holidays and random times during the year that were amazing. I hated as a kid getting specific candies only at certain times of the year, to the point I asked my parents to stop. I'd end out having to throw the candy out because I wanted to spread it out and have it later in the year but it'd go bad.
I don't like any cosmetics being exclusive. I've gotten all the rift and Amazon prime cosmetics as well as all the earnable event cosmetics since I started playing. They don't feel special to me because I got them during a limited time. I'd much rather they all be put into the store permanently so they are available to everyone at any time. I'd feel special seeing more cosmetics permanently added to the store for my main, Zarina, but unfortunately since she doesn't have many cosmetics she's isn't a go to for people to play and her not being played is why the devs don't give her cosmetics. She has 3 rift cosmetics that I wish they'd permanently put in the store to give players that missed out more options to encourage them to play her so she could get more cosmetics but instead of adding cosmetics to the store permanently for her she is one that is having a cosmetic removed thanks to the new "winter cosmetics are time limited" that BHVR has decided to do.

That's fine. We all have different experiences, which is why I don't ######### on anyone's opinion on this because it depends on who you are. I just had to add my 2 cents because there are some replies in the other threads that are speaking for the "community". I want to make sure my voice is heard too.

I wish we had hot cross buns all year around in Australia. They used to only come out in the lead up to Easter, then they started bringing them out after new year. A bunch of people were complaining but I saw it as a total win. I usually stock the freezer up before they go away

Egg nog is a physical product. It takes up space on shelves. It goes bad if people don't buy it in time.
Physical and digital products aren't really comparable. Digital products don't take up shelf space. There's no overhead. They're made of computer code and pixels. Each item isn't made individually. There's no factory pumping out Trickster's bats, no group of bored mothers sitting around stitching each Meg dress by hand.
I'm not sharing an opinion about the sales tactics here. I'm just saying that digital products aren't at all the same as physical products. Especially not food products, which have expiration dates: people get physically ill if they consume the product after it's overflowing with bacteria. Any expiration date or limited availability on a digital product is artificially created, someone has to put in extra effort to code that in.

I don't care too much about eggnog (now that I know what it is, and how its called "here") but there is some kind of sweet bread only available in December and that I love.
I can tell you if it wasn't "rare", I wouldn't care so much about it and I wouldn't go specifically in bakeries to buy it.
Cakes (the real stuff, think artisanal wedding cake) are available all year and yet I don't buy one every day. At most, I buy one for a birthday or something, because it's special.
What was the subject already?
Ah, yes : nonsense.
