Garden Of Joy - Infinite, Or Am I Bad?
Really wish I'd recorded this - strong team, but I was on a roll tonight, rotating through my killers and holy crap should I have hesitated to play Piggy...
A Mikaela and a Dwight gave me absolute nightmares. Basically, three windows were open on the bottom floor of the main house. They'd run to one, vault in, vault out the other, all of which had no easy exit for killer, then loop around, in through the third or the door and start the process again.
If they were ever in trouble, they'd go upstairs and vault out, then start again. But this was rare.
Tried everything. Mindgames, nope. Incredibly patient (and two of them had Fogwise). Drop down and head them off? Nope, they'd rotate around, back in through another window. It was so severe that it was difficult to even stay in chase.
Not sure what the trick to this structure is, but I was getting horrible flashbacks of the Haddonfield House of Pain.

The mansion as well as the whole map is notoriously unbalanced. Easily the most overpowered main building in the entire game.

You play M1 killers without bamboozle? Bless your soul. They STILL have not removed some of the oldest god-windows so I refuse to take it off. Grim Pantry comes to mind, the most braindead window in DBD. Or maybe that is Mother's Dwelling? Hmmm. I can't decide, there are so many.
Maybe there are more in the new maps but I would never know, I just vault the window after them and that is that

That house needs changes
11 -
House has three separate god windows. One in kitchen, two upstairs.
I thought they would have learned from Haddonfield but I guess not.
4 -
Am I the only one who has never seen a survivor use the house against anyone?
2 -
Yes
18 -
Honestly, I find Mother's Dwelling spawns no windows pretty often now.
1 -
It's one of the few windows in the game that still gives me the fizzies, and I've never seen this before.
It reminds me of that video where someone ran Otz on Nemesis for about 5 minutes on the Haddonfield HOP pseudo and the only way he caught her was that she got bored.

Bamboozle is more of an insurance policy to me. Half the time it is a dead perk slot but the times you need it, you really need it.
Between running lots of M1 killers and also being a Bubba enjoyer i've also run it so much all my window vault mindgames subconsciously factor it in at this point. And i'm super lazy at jungle gyms and the shack.
Dredge has made it even worse. I find myself never kicking safe pallets because between bamboozle and not losing bloodlust using his power he can basically brute force almost everything; even if it is a bad idea
I actually use bamboozle on Nemesis too. Sad but true, he smashes the pallets well enough so might as well get rid of the windows while I am at it. Definitely my most crutched on perk and I have it on everyone who doesn't have a super hard anti-loop / anti-window (Pyramid Head).
Slowdown is nice but I usually find that cutting off ridiculous window setups saves me way more time overall than a few more seconds on the gens

Did you know the Garden of Pain house has a breakable wall in it?
I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't. It is the most pointless breakable wall in the game as well as nearly invisible.

That house is the most unbalanced building in the game. As killer you basically give up any gens near it and never attempt to even play it. If you by chance get lucky and do down someone you will have wasted so much time that you’re basically throwing the game anyway. Look for the best 3 gen you’ve got at the start that isn’t near the house and try to hold that.
6 -
Do not chase in main building against good survivors.
2 -
Even bad survivors can easily get value from it. Best to not chase any survivor in it unless you’re certain you can get a hit before they reach one of the windows.

I just had a match on this map. They go in a side door and out the window. I chased them for a few rounds because it was SWF3, so they have less to capitalize with on me playing stupidly.
But also, I'm sort of fascinated by doing things in this game that I know are failures, and I know the survivor exploiting the loop must know it is dumb for me to do it. I like to wonder if they think I'm ********.

All killers are bad on Garden. Don't beat yourself up.

I believe also Father Campbell's Chapel can spawn one god window...Haddonfield has basicly an infinite on one of it's houses thanks to 2 strong windows...DbD's map design is very fair.

I know a lot of people will not like this suggestion but:
Break off the chase
You know where the gens are, break off the chase, go either for someone else or force the survivors that been looping you to leave the loop.
1 -
I think this is the correct answer, even if you do get them it will take way too much time and one hook is not worth all that uninterrupted time on gens unless they're on death hook. You're better off trying to 3 gen in the area across the street and ignoring house side entirely I feel.
2 -
As far as I know it can be an infinite against M1 killers. Not to mention the whole map loops into itself and visibility for killer is poor
Just a terrible map all around
2 -
I admittedly avoid the god windows as survivor as I feel guilty using them but I'm a killer main. So likely you may have just seen me die like an idiot for refusing to use them like everyone else.
Although realistically I'm surprised you've never seen anyone use them.
1 -
Sure.
But thing is - against a team that know what they are doing, it's not like they can't make it there from nearly anywhere on the map.
2 -
Never seen someone come close to using the house as an infinite in solo que but even I wasn't aware it was that strong so that's probably why, I'll be sure to try and learn the loops as usually it seemed like a dead end after you threw the god pallet outside on the lower porch.

I don't think I've ever seen 3 windows open on the ground floor before - although maybe this was the first time I'd seen a team abuse it like this.
Yeah I've seen this, but it's one window. This was 3, two of which are 'god vaults'. Yes, there's a Latin pun I'm not going to make.

That map is awful to say the least: a lot of pallets scattered around the map, VERY CLOSE to each other, plus good jungle gyms, the killer shack (actually with a bug that will spawn a rock just after the window, making it even safer) and the central building which is AN ACTUAL Infinite and you'll get the idea of the bs level of that map
2 -
Then again against a team that knows what they're doing it doesn't really matter at bottomline. Also there's then the chance that once you leave their looper they become headless chicken.

I don't think it's the right play. Low mobility killers you can't really afford to break off a chase in the early/mid game. And if it's a really dumb central building like Dead Dawg you can be sure most survivors are gonna hold W straight to the god windows every single time anyways.
You are going to lose gens left and right trying to find a new survivor. Then if you are M1 you gotta hold W all the way up to them, hit them twice, and kick a few safe pallets along the way which is just too much time lost if all 4 survivors are alive and doing gens. You really need corrupt active during that time to hold your hand through the initial phase of the game without losing 3 gens right off the bat which is why the first chase is so critical and requires the killer to commit.
Losing because the first guy you chased held W to the nearest god window after being injured and now is looping it without recourse? Forget it. That's another reason for bamboozle.

DDS isn't too bad.
This was a literal infinite.
0 -
DDS?
I've had some close games on there, but it has three very barren edges and is so small that you can easily get into another chase.
Garden is just wall to wall nasty. A hellish main structure, another god vault in the gazebo, a ton of strong pallets and very safe gens.

There are 2 windows intertwined on the first floor of the building, played together they create a complete infinite and bamboozle lock only one window.
Dunno why the devs are still releasing maps with such loops but hey guess what, they have needed 6 years to fix the houses of pain so... they will fix this in 2029 :)
