Thoughts on 2022 Chapters for DBD

This year for DBD has been interesting to say the least.

Starting off we had the introduction of Ringu coming into DBD and though this chapter was actually unique and kinda brough the horror back for a bit it overall wasn't the best start as Sadako is still to this day a weak killer even though in the devs data they say she's the 2nd best killer but, when playing her it doesn't feel like it. Her Perks though are pretty solid and Yoichi's perks are decent but, not ultra game changing.

The Anniversary comes along we get to see Haddie and meet the Dredge. Haddie had some interesting perks but, they weren't anything crazy samething for Dredge kinda he's got a couple decent perks. The Dredge gameplay was pretty good to it gets quiet spooky once it goes dark with Nightfall and being able to teleport to lockers I was skeptical at first but, they did a good job with it. Anti Loop is alright as well overall Roots of Dread was a solid chapter except Garden of Joy that map could use some reworks.

Following that was more Resident Evil content with Project W bringing in Rebecca, Ada, and Wesker. All 3 of them have some decent perks and Wesker himself is quiet enjoyable to play as and against. He may have had a rough launch with his hitbox being small but, once that was fixed he became the most fun killer we've gotten this year. The ability to Dash forward grab your prey and smash them into a wall or throw them it just feels so satisfying and not to mention he's insulting everyone the whole time or yourself if you're not playing him well. Overall Project W easily the best chapter we've had this year adding in more well known Survivor characters and an Iconic video game Villain.

Now we come down to Forged in Fog and honestly it didn't go to well. When it came out I thought it was the worst chapter they've ever released The Knight's power was very clunky and the guards tracking was just awful not to mention they could get stuck. The map also was just awful with so many pallets placed around the place and the majority of them being safe as well but, now it's been fixed and it seems pretty solid so far. Vittorio has some really solid perks and so does the Knight and I even thought The Knight was the worst killer in the roster. However, after sometime playing the Knight very consistently I've realized he's not as bad as we thought he was he can be very deadly at some loops and if he corners you you're in trouble. Overall Knight's chapter wasn't to well recieved the theme of the chapter is amazing though as it feels good to finally have something Medieval theme in DBD.

Overall I'd rate 2022 for DBD a 5 out of 10. We had 2 very good chapters and 2 chapters that weren't the greatest.

If I had to rank the chapters:

Ringu: 4/10

Roots of dread: 7/10

Resident Evil Project W: 9/10

Forged in Fog: 3/10

I agree with this. RE Project W is by far the best chapter we received this year, Forged in Fog the worst. To be fair, Vittorio is an awesome character, perhaps one of the best survivors they brought out this year in terms of theming and details.

Ringu: Good chapter, If it had come with a map it would've been great.

Roots of Dread: Good chapter, but main house is too strong and bvhr locked Haddie in a basement and lost the key.

Project W: Great chapter, but RPD i too big still.

Forged in Fog: Meh, It had a bad launch, the characters and the map are pretty interesting but for some reason this chapter feels kind of forgettable.
