I've come to realize this game is just not worth it anymore.
New year still the same meta. Out of the 9 games played today in a short span as a solo q for 6 and duo for 3 I escaped 1 time on hatch by chance. In total, over those 9 games there was 2 escapes from the survivor side. That's 34 kills to 2 escapes.
Basically the only perks you see at end game are Call of Brine + Eruption + Overcharge/Pain Res.

Damn i find the irony hilarious at this point. All these complaints about seeing the same killer perks again and again.
And the only thing i have to say is:
Welcome to how killer felt during the years 3-5, dh/ds/ub/BT/.... Any combination of those plus one extra, on 4 survivors, in the majority of games.

Yep 94% DH use rate at top 5% mmr or whatever the absurd stat was prior to 6.1. No way Eruption is used that much

You don't need to take the complaint personally.
The developers are the ones who design the game in a way to the point where these types of perks are just so much more powerful. I don't think people should be blamed for picking up on something so clear and free.
But i don't think we should attack devs for this either. It is a game. Their game. We can try steer the direction of how we want the game with posts like these but it's up to the devs at the end of the day.

sorry to hear this my guy.
in my opinion i don't think this meta is any worse then previous ones. People tend to forget how much broken $hit was running around. Im also a solo q survivor who occasionally play in duo. The meta always going to piss people off especially if u constantly on the losing end of it

Goodness, wasn't that pleasant? Survivors coming in with just DH and no other perks, provided you didn't play like a jerk.

Eruption isn't used anywhere near to what Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Iron Will, and DS were at the heyday of that meta (I.E. multiple years) but is complained about far more. Almost as if the 'killer-dominated forum' crying is projection and it's actually an easy survivor majority.

Or that people recognize things that are too strong.
There were PLENTY of nerf DH, DS etc etc threads.

May i suggest you play killer instead? I´m sure you will find the perk variety refreshing.

It's just my honest opinion and my amusement over the now side switched behaviour.
Back then we whined about the same thing and often got dismissive comments but now the shoe is on the other food, not for years but weeks to months and it has reach already peak levels from back then. Which shouldn't be surprising when the problems affect the bigger part of the playerbase (probably minus the pure swf player).
Also not necessarily the same people that have been dismissive back then and complain now, but there is a certain overlap here and there.

I just want to see Eruption and Dead Hard nerfed into the ground and tunnelling to be made shameful again.
I want DBD to be in good health as it is by far the game I have

Though it is still problematic that the killer meta now is just as narrow as the survivor meta used to be.

Absolutely right and it was a disgusting time ... but still, two wrongs don't make one right. Lets be the better peeps here and admit that this combo is way too overtuned and should be toned down. On the same vein, this combo being meta now bleeds into all other spects of the game, even if you bring some fun perk combo, survivors will play in turbo mode from second one, no quarters given, and basically all games feel sweaty right now and are over in the blink of an eye if you don't bring your killer a-game. Still doesn't prevents survivors from absolutely dancing and prancing on your grave if they stomped you like they won the championship and trashtalk you so bad. Really, there is next to no inbetween.

That's the reason I quit. This game will never ever recover from this point.
Both sides have found the strongest stuff again and again and now each has to FEAR that the other side will bring their A-game.
If they do, it MIGHT be balanced (that's open for discussion including the usual BS rng of killer character+map(generation)+useless matchmaking).
If any side doesn't, then it will most probably be a slaughter, again depending the other rng.
And sadly as a killer only player (i was never interested in solo and didn't have people in my friendliest to swf) i saw again and again the herd mentality of a group of people feeling strong and making fun of the isolated individual, in no fancy terms, survivor have an inherent tendency to be jerks. And I wasn't up for that anymore.

I never used any of those perks, still don't. There are plenty of us casual players. And yet I'm subjected to this gen kick meta that's dragging my games out to two or three times the normal length. I can deal with the same perks every game, but I don't have the time to spend in these long games.

And?
I was a friendly fun killer and still found roughly 10/16 perks average being meta on my survivors. And I was tired of getting hook denied, had to hit people endlessly and other stuff when just trying to play relaxed and have fun. All that coupled with obnoxious gloating at every point.
