Survivors being able to take the game hostage is a problem.

The flaw in that is it assumes the Survivors don't move. Shockingly, if they aren't triggering idle crows, they are in fact doing that.
It's almost like the stealth aspects of the game are made with the assumption that Survivors will at some point have to do something attention grabbing in order to win. And if they don't, there is absolutely nada that a Killer can do at that point to find them (the few info perks that would help in such a situation being impossible to swap in mid game, obviously).
Also, as you have been told multiple times: it's BHVR's own policy that refusing to do gens because you're waiting for the other Survivor to die so you can get out is holding the game hostage and against the rules. So, do gens. Or go find a singleplayer game to enjoy.

It would be better if the game simply made it impossible to do that. Why is body blocking (like the actual abusive kind) still a thing? Why can survivors hide on red forest for 30 minutes without touching a gen? Why not make it so if you body block someone for say, 15 seconds, they lose collision so they can walk through you? Why not make it so if survivors don't progress the game after x amount of minutes, that they just start getting crows?
Because right now, if requires me to record a video, then report them out of the game, then hope that something actually gets done, but it doesn't fix the problem for me when i am experiencing it. Better to just make it not possible, then to make it something you punish people for.

I don't slug for the 4k so when in the rare games it happens it wasn't because of me according to you. And if they did that because of the killer in their last game that's like me going against a 4-man bnp squad and then running iri tag alch ring the next game.
Survivor hides and takes the game hostage = it's because of slugging for the 4k.
Take accountability my guys. I don't want to see these people when I play survivor or killer they are actively throwing and ruining that game.
People making these threads probably aren't slugging for the 4k.
This situation needs to be addressed directly and game health won't fix it.

I'm not accusing you directly. If you don't do it, then you shouldn't feel that I am. I don't even feel like you read my full post which was, I feel, very balanced both in favour of killers and survivors. Addressing both non slug scenarios and slug scenarios and how we need to address both separately. I agree that the situation needs to be dealt with and soon - but saying it's only one specific situation focusing on how it negatively impacts one side alone won't fix anything.

But what about guarding 3gens as killer and refusing to take chases? I've had games like these last for almost an hour, with the killer not downing anyone and just camping the 3gen with all the gen regression perks, such as overcharge.. its very annoying and should be considered the same thing as survivors hiding. Both are a problem

Nice whataboutism, we are discussion the hiding scenario, yours has another thread a few days ago and was confirmed as also reportable for hostage taking.

Whispers sounds like a solution to this, but it...really isn't.
It might help you on some maps, but on most of the newer ones it becomes a situation of 'oh thanks, now which of the 1758 bushes, lockers and hidey-holes in this square area contains that Claudette and can I find her before she just relocates?' situation. You vastly underestimate how impossible it can be to find survivors that are making their only goal to hide for as long as possible.
Plus, that's like telling survivors that facecamping is completely fine pre 6.1.0 and that they should just be running Kinship baseline. 'You could always run a niche perk that's useless in 99% of situations in case that one fringe but completely obnoxious situation arises' is not a good solution.
Again - this is a very odd hill to die on. The fact that there is an exploit that negates AFK crows and this has been in the game for years probably means it's not easy to fix, but that doesn't mean it's not a problem - especially since it's finally been spread around by a specific streamer.
This is literally just whataboutism.
Yes, that's a problem too. But we're not talking about that here. There are other threads about 3gen hostage situations.

PUBG closing storm mechanic WHEN?!

At this point I'd take almost anything just so I never have to deal with this absurdity ever again.
