Survivor Blindness is more about a lack of spatial awareness.

Disregarding that, what Perks do you think should be reconsidered?

Nah, it shouldn't have any effect on blindness. It will still do what it does now.

Blindness is already worthless. A swf has communication and isn't affected at all and a non swf can still hard counter it simply by paying attention.

And if they're not paying attention enough to be able to work out where their teammates are hooked by the dirty great bubble that appears on the screen then they're probably not gonna put up much of a fight anyway.

    Blindness is underrated.

I used to play Hex Third Seal a lot, and for some reason survivors underestimate it and it often stayed up.

Blindness counters Windows, which lots of survivors rely on.

Counters OoO as well, though that's more niche.

Counters Alert, Fogwise, good aura perks.

It also prevents from seeing the aura of the hooked survivor, so if you did not pay attention to where they were hooked, good luck finding them. Even on comms, unless you're next to a significant landmark, it wastes a lot of time to go look for the hooked survivor.

Blindness removes the red stain and terror radius so the killer has a better chance of getting to the survivor unnoticed.

It also removes aura perks so you can't see specific locations.

It will still do all of this. Being able to see someone is on a gen or being chased won't change that. You still won't be able to tell how close the killer is or where anyone else is.

Nope. You're mixing that up with "Oblivious". Blindness only makes you unable to see auras. You still see the red stain and hear the killer's TR.

That being said, the only real use I've found for blindness so far is missing the aura of hooked survivors. Anything else is too situational or just not impactful enough.

I would like to see blindness deactivate the icons for its duration. That way it would be exactly as strong as it is now without the icons but might be useful because many people will rely on them.

The Third Seal could still be somewhat useful becacuse it stays on the player until the Hex is removed or until you hit others too many times, but the status effect can get applied in other ways, most often addons, and there it is pretty useless. Mostly because the effect is applied only for some duration. E.g. the Twins have an addon that applies Blind for (iirc) 20 seconds after Victor pounces on someone. Perhaps it could have some very niche use but generally 20 seconds of blind is pretty incosequential. The Pig has an addon that applies Blind for as long as the player has the RBT on them, and it doesn't hide the auras of the Jigsaw boxes, so again, pretty pointless.

I think the Blind status should receive some additional effect. As it has been suggested before - it would be cool if it hid the red stain. This would actually impact also swf. It could also lower generator repair speed by some %. Or it could make Skill check windows smaller or something.

I agree that on some addons it's pointless, especially if the duration is very short.

It still hides auras, which is a source of information far more accurate than action icons, more accurate than 99% of voice callouts people do too. You'll know Meg and Dwight is on a gen sure, but you won't know they're on a gen in Bond range. You'll know Jake is being chased, but you won't see him with Empathy/Aftercare/whatever that shows you he's being chased in shack specifically.

Of course it does little more than making people use less-accurate-than-auras callouts to circumvent it in swf, but the "meh vs swf, potentially hyper obnoxious vs solos" has always been a double sided issue with blindness as a status effect that is just not healthy in my opinion.

AND Blindness is arguably better than it has ever been thanks to Windows of Opportunity being popular now.

While it might have a slight effect, for the most part, these icons shouldn't affect Blindness. Auras will still provide far more detailed information (and different types of information, like Windows of Opportunity) than those icons ever could.

That said, if it does end up having a bigger impact than anticipated, the Blindness status effect could always be updated with new functionality, similar to Hemorrhage a while back.

Oh yeah thatd be something interesting to see since blindness sometimes has been memed on. I think it has some uses but when its slapped on like purple add ons i see why people kinda wonder.

I don't really see how they're related, and I think blindness is a bit underrated (as a solo player that uses aura perks to help, it frustrates me) but I wouldn't mind blindness getting another function along with the aura blocking. Not sure what it would be though.

Swfs are affected by blindness. Apart from main building and killer shack it's incredibly hard to make accurate verbal callouts on most maps. There's nothing really that gives the same advantage as an aura read. Plus it hard nerfs perks like windows.

"Paying attention" won't help you pin point a downed surv on the other side of the map. Sure awareness helps but again can't beat a good aura read.

I think people underestimate how disorienting Blindness status effect is.
