What Should Happen to Eruption?
Eruption, an extremely controversial perk in the current day of Dead by Daylight. The current effects of Eruption are as follows:
- After damaging a Generator, the next time you down a Survivor, the following effects are applied:
- All affected Generators with Eruption applied regress by 10%.
- All Survivors repairing affected Generators will scream and become Incapacitated for 25 seconds.
- Eruption has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
Eruption is controversial because of its Incapacitation effects and the ability to synergize with other regression perks to cause games to last for upwards of the whole hour before the server automatically ends the game. This leads to clearly unhealthy gameplay where certain characters decide to remain within a certain radius of Generators and try to prevent Survivors from being able to complete them.
This is not ideal.
But I've a personal solution to the problem of Eruption that I want to address. This is my version of the Perk that I think would be much healthier for the game:
- After damaging a Generator, the next time you down a Survivor, that Generator will lose 10% of its progress.
- For every Generator that Eruption is applied to after the first, gain a stack-able 2% additional regression per Generator, up to a maximum of 12% additional regression.
- All Survivors repairing affected Generators will scream and have their auras revealed for 3/4/5 seconds.
- Eruption has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
So now is the point of the poll that I think you've been waiting for: What should happen to Eruption?
- Should it remain the same?
- Should it be changed to the proposed idea?
- Should it be changed to something else instead?

Based on how well Eruption synergises with other strong perks, I don’t believe there needs to be as much info alongside the gen regression in one perk alone. I like the stackable idea though.

I like the proposal.
That it should be change to this or something else, I don't really care.
To be fair, I'm too low mmr on survivor to even encounter Eruption frequently. I just think your idea is neat. Maybe add that the gens get blocked for a little time like DMS, to remain the heart of the slowdown without making survivors incapacitated. That way gens are still on cooldown but survivors can at least open a chest or something.

Eruption should be changed, but to something else
Just need the Incapacitated changed to blocking the gen. This removes the unfun factor of preventing the survivor from playing the game by giving them other things they can do. The issue with the perk is the unfun factor of Incapacitated, not that the perk is too strong. This would still technically end up being a nerf to the perk though.
