Flashlight Saves
Hey all,
I've been playing as different killers today and noticed that there might be an issue with flashlight saves. Twice I was carrying survivors on my shoulders to hook and was flashlight stunned. Neither time did I drop the survivor. So, has anyone else noticed that flashlight saves aren't working? I'm not complaining, I like it, but I know it isn't fair.

They work just fine. They probably didn’t time it properly.
Or do you mean as you’re hooking them? A blind does nothing while you’re in animation.

What do you mean didn't time it properly? They blinded me completely, I retained hold of the survivor on my shoulder. This doesn't happen when they get a full blind.

Did they start the blind as you were picking up?

I gotta say I’ve had many killer games recently as well where I chose to drop the survivor because they blinded me but didn’t get the drop and it felt unfair.
as in fully blinded walking with survivor on my shoulder. Also felt like a really long blind but that could have been addons
i feel if multiple of us killers are saying it then it may be worth investigating

It can. The blind and the stun are separate. You can get blinded while carrying a survivor without being stunned if you move/look away fast enough.

This felt like there should have been a stun, but it simply doesn't come. I guess I will play some more and see if the pattern continues.

There is a certain time in the animation where if you blind the Killer, they drop the Survivor. If you get it too early then it doesnt count since the Survivor is not seen as being carried by the Killer yet. If you get it too late, the Killer could just look away. So you have to get the timing just right.
Keep in mind, that Latency is a thing when this happens. Sometimes you might get blinded but it's too early on the Survivor's end, but it does not look too early due to Latency. There are of course bugs and issues that can happen with blinding which is why I always recommend checking the Forum's Bug and Reporting Section to see if anyone has a made a post/report regarding such.

There is a very brief potential window between the 'blind' effect and you dropping, where - if you look away - you'll see the visual but won't drop. I think it probably happens because of latency.

That's why everyone being so dramatic about the flashlight buff was, well, an bit too dramatic.
People still miss their flashlight saves. If anything, they're more bold and sloppy about them. There's not much to be worried about.

There must be a bug with the ping indicator. So many strange things like this happen even no high ping is shown.
