New ideas about survivors objectives , Read this devs
Hey Dead by Daylight players, I'm writing this in the hope of making survivors gameplay a bit challenging and less boring & I hope that Devs are going to read this
Let me talk about survivors objectives, holding/toggle m1 for almost everything except vaulting, you have to hold m1 for mend/healing others and yourself/unhooking/opening the chest/openning vaccine case/cleansing totem/boon totem/curing the infection & etc.
But none of them are as annoying as holding m1 for 90s for each gen, I understand none of us doing 5 gen all alone by ourselves and there are perks and items that helps you to reduce the gen time but that doesn't change the fact that doing gens is boring
Here's my main point of this post
Add some puzzle oriented objectives and reduce the number of gens or the required time to finish repairing a gen
How about a necessary mechanical part for repairing a gen that every survivors NEED to find across the map, there should be one for each survivor? That would also automatically fix gen rushing too as survivors need to explore at the beginning of the game
Please let me know if this is actually a good or way too stupid idea or they shouldn't even think of changing survivors objectives
Thanks for the reading and have an awesome day

This has been suggested before and would require an overhaul of the entire game. Maybe for DBD 2.

Really? Haven't seen it
I don't think Dbd 2 will ever happen because they have no reason for that

Some of those make some sense
Except for lessening the numbers of Gens (from the Killers perspective... that would mean even more Camping and Tunneling)
Lessening the time it takes to finish a Gen should be 80 seconds (charges)... it certainly isn't ideal but it's something
Plus I did make a status effected skillchecks... it won't do much to help
I mean allowing more buttons to be used for different things does make sense but you have to remember that the game is on consoles (limited amount of buttons)

Here's what I would do to make gen rushing irrelevant at the begin, yet rewarding for survivors whom work hard in finding gen parts and making possible to shut down 3 gen strategy if possible.
All 7 gens have the ability to spawn individual per gen up to 5 parts, for a total of 35 parts.
All gens starts off with 120 seconds of repair time (buffed from 90 seconds to 120 seconds.
Each part you find, will remove and Permanent fix a Gen by 10% or 10 seconds; can be stack to only 5 part per one gen; or 50% or 50 seconds of gen progress.
A gen that gets all 5 parts attached to it; will get a 70 second gen to complete now; instead of 120 seconds.
The parts can be as typical objects found in gens like a Rivit/bolts, gasoline, etc, and will be glowing to the survivor player on the ground near certain tiles/buildings. It can spawn randomly anywhere in the map; and will constantly respawn.
Yes, a Survivor can be a gen jockey and choose to waste time in working on a single 120 seconds long gen; but if they choose to explore the map and find the necessary key parts to bring back to the gen they need to work on; they can do that and saved alot of time in less gen progress then before.
It would be prevent Genrushing on the first 2/3 gens in the first minute of the match; yet survivors can stock pile gen parts on the last 3 gens and make those gen timer insane shorter then normal by less then 50 seconds out of the 120 second.
Alot of gen perks builds/killer regression builds might need to be reworked or buffed or nerfed to these new changes; but it would be a good way to incorporate new mechanic to Survivor's goals; while giving killer some time to do regular chase and hooks if necessary; maybe not always needing to rely on gen slowdown perks to win.

The big reason I don’t see a DBD 2 is because I’m unsure if licenses would carry over. I highly doubt it
I do hope the day can eventually make one however, I am starting to feel as though this series need a clean slate to work on
If they get a decent deal they could just do a “Legacy” bundle with all the current licenses and then sell the new content as they do now

Hmmm I think the first thing this would do is make hex totems much less valuable.
Aside from that, I read somewhere that the devs tried out secondary objectives internally but their testers found it not fun.
I like the idea, but this generator part needs to be not a requirement. It would need to be something that survivors could find and use to repair the gen faster. If this was done though, base generator repair times need to be increased. Players don’t need to go find these parts, but they will happen upon them. I imagine that feeling of finding one would be quite a rush, and we could have some perks to help find them more efficiently. Maybe not an aura read, that sounds too easy.

Finding things isn't a bad idea, but I want the survivors to interact more with something on the map - doors that the killer breaks, the ability to pour oil or drop barrels, board doors or windows, drop hooks for more time more things that can be counteracted against the killers.

We asked for years to have something like a parts system where at least one generator would require you to find parts. It is likely they did not want to get too close to the F13 game that requires gas /keys/batery for the car.
They could have just put in a 2v8 mode.

Man, this should have been a thing, for real

TCM will definitely be a big draw that DBD does not have because it will be 3 killers vs 4 survivors.
