Remove depipping if killer gets a kill
I see arguments that depipping should not be changed because otherwise you could go afk/stop trying if match is not going your way but I don't think that's good argument. If killer tries and gets kill or two he should never depip.

What if the killer Camp and tunnel the First hooked survivor and then he decides to do nothing for the rest of the trial. would that count?

Or...why don't we just remove depipping?

That's ok for me but there are arguments why it should still stay in some form to punish dc/afk:ing players.

Never seen anyone do that.

If only the report system actually worked since we have a specific way to report afk players. It's as if they don't actually act on those reports.
If they actually did then they could remove depips and just ban afk farming players who ruin games.

I don't think anyone has ever been prevented from DCing by depipping.

You can get a kill simply staying next to a hook.
Looking at you Bubba.

Well killer does at least one chase in that match and good survivors can pull of trades so it takes some work to secure that kill unless you get the survivor in basement. Still you have to do another chase to get 2K.
You still can even depip with bubba if you down survivors too fast with the chainsaw in chases... That's what happened to me I did multiple chases and got 2K which should definetely be enough to safety pip.

depipping is dumb on both side how random this game is there shouldn't be de pipping unless you dc then yea you should de pipping but that it most of the time it should be safety pips.

While i agree the safety pip requirements should be a bit lower, I think the bronze requirement at bronze/silver and the silver requirement at gold/iridescent would be much more fair, Depipping definitely still has a place and shouldnt be removed.
Currently it is the only form of punishment for early game hook suicides.
It does give you something to actually play for in a losing match.

If you DC or are AFK, you are actively not playing the game, so you literally shouldnt even gain a Pip to begin with anyways. People forget that you can just not get a Pip from a match, Depipping and Pipping arent the only two things ya know.

You cannot drop grade anymore so it's not really even a punishment in its current form. The most you can lose is however many you have towards the next grade, so what... 4 max?
This also assumes people who DC care about pips. People who DC generally do so because they aren't having fun. That just means they care more about fun than pipping, which is honestly a totally valid position (DCing notwithstanding).

De-pipping should be removed altogether for both killers and survivors. The devs have said repeatedly that grades are an indicator of time played during that month. Your time played can't go backwards. Grades are not ranks, they're not used for matchmaking. You can't gain a pip unless you participate in the match. Losing pips just makes bad matches so much more miserable, like the match itself wasn't miserable enough on its own.
Pipping up is something that players should feel encouraged to do, but after a couple months of going to the trouble to reach iri I said "screw this." It's not fun, and it's not rewarding enough to be worth the absolute frustration of it. De-pipping has actually de-incentivized me from playing at all sometimes because I'll be one pip away from the next grade and so two weeks later I'll still have not touched the game because the apprehension of losing pips outweighs the fun factor of DbD. Even though I try to ignore pips as much as possible now, they can still cause me to stop playing DbD for long stretches because I'd rather be one pip away from the next grade but not reach it than risk losing all the pips. It's a weird psychological thing, I guess.

I agree but for now just best thing we can do is not to care about pipping. Because it takes all the fun away from the game like I should not feel miserable as killer when I get 3K but not getting that last pip to reach gold grades and then nextstch depip to feel even worser. As survivor I have managed to not think about it too much but when I see im close hitting new grade I do care and it's miserable to fail.
