Solo queue feels bad because of player perspective; quality of teammates is a secondary contributor
Here's what I mean.
If you are playing in a SWF and you die, but your 3 teammates live, it's generally a positive experience. Everyone is celebrating. Hooray!
If you are playing solo and you die, but your 3 teammates live, who cares? You don't know them, they don't know you. Are you even sticking around to watch? Probably not.
This is also why you see DCs/suicides more when your teammates are solos.
I don't know if there is a good solution for this, as it requires a mentality change. Some kind of BP bonus for each teammate that escapes even after you are killed might work for some players, and it probably wouldn't work for others.
It would be nice if everyone cared about their rando teammates, but naturally a lot of people won't. Psychology has shown quite conclusively that rewarding people for good behavior works better than punishing them for bad behavior. If there were some way to reward killed survivors based on the overall outcome of the match, I imagine at least some people might start caring, which (for those players) solves two problems at once: they can be happier with dying if their teammates live, and they will probably DC/suicide less.
(I'm not suggesting the DC penalty go away. Rather, it should be viewed as a way to protect players from those who DC, not as a punishment for those who DC.)

What you said is correct. BUT, it's also because a good portion of players aren't trying or aren't good.

See the second half of the title.
Yes, that's part of it. I don't think it's the primary reason.

I do care about my teamates. Most of the time, I don’t mind trading myself for someone else so they can escape instead of me.
And I don’t need any reward for that. Being a final girl is boring anyway.
Remove the bonus for escaping and buff BP overall.

Yep, not saying some people don't. I strongly suspect you're in the minority.
I definitely don't see how an overall-match-outcome-based reward would be a bad thing, anyway. At worst it doesn't change people's behavior, but at best it promotes behaviors and playstyles that are better for the team as a whole.

I agree with this, a lot of people in solo queue play selfishly and I think a BP reward for dead survivors at the end based on each survivor alive would be a good change (so like at the end of the trial the dead survivors could gain a certain percentage of bonus BP depending on how many survivors escaped)?
It would make things more fair for anyone who gets tunneled out early too so maybe getting tunneled won't feel AS bad.

Oooo that would be a good update. You get bonus bp depending on how many survive. Would make people really think I could just leave or could go for a rescue and get extra
Please devs!
