New killer perk concept mechanic: Doom boon
I have been thinking about a new type of perk that could be into the game and I came up with this concept.
These perks will be considered Doom perks which can only be applied IF there's a boon in the game, survivors can bless hexes and turn them into boons, this is what doom perks will do, they will curse the boon turning it into a doom boon which will apply a AOE debuff within it.
The doom boons range will be 32 meters and will ONLY apply the debuff when the survivors are WITHIN the area of the Doom boon, survivors can bless the doom boon again at the cost of it taking longer (same time it takes to bless hexes) or get rid of it by cleansing it, if they bless it again all the time they wasted blessing it is taken away if the killer doom's it again, so either the survivors waste time blessing it over and over again or they take it away and find another boon or don't set one up at all to avoid having a doom boon in a important area of the map.
Effects in those Doom boons could be hindred by 5% or broken when in it, slower gen speed, gens regressing faster in the AOE, staying 10 seconds in the Doom boon radius will leave you exposed, there's many possibilities for debuffs that this mechanic could bring, making boons more risky to use.
While hexes are usually high risk high reward and boons are "safe areas", this would turn their boon against them and turning their safe heaven into hell.
They would be strong debuff since they require players to actually boon totems to be able to use those perks, if no one makes a boon the killer won't be able to use Doom boons, and since survivors can see where the boon is/was and see it's gone and there's a debuff in the area, they know which totem to cleanse or bless to get rid of it.
What do you guys think of this concept?
