New wiggle balances make it more difficult to escape the Killer's grasp.
Also Boil Over is still super underwhelming, even with the recent buff. Since successful skill checks no longer give any extra wiggle progress, you're less likely to be able to escape before the killer finds a hook, UNLESS you're definitely running Boil Over and even bring that Ashley Williams perk. As it is right now, wiggling is not as viable as it was before
I can only imagine those with 0 reflexes or skill will find even more trouble if they miss several skill checks towards the end, when the bar gets really small.

On certain tiles boil over is still super annoying and if a SWF have the right perks they can ensure that they wiggle of a lot of the time forcing the killer to slug them.
The fact that hitting the great skillchecks gueranteed that you wiggle of faster was a bad idea. At best you can get off 1 second faster that makes an incredible difference. If the killer downs someone you are not meant to get off that easily. You lost the chase now your team needs to think of something to save you from getting hooked before that you could just wiggle yourself of sometimes. The great skillchecks were not that hard to hit to begin with. And with the new wiggle mechanic it's even easier because they made the skillchecks even bigger.

Wiggling isn't meant to be viable on its own without help from your teammates. You might escape the killer's shoulder on your own every once in a while, but it shouldn't be a common occurrence.

This new wiggle feels awful for me. I always preferred the old onw as this feels "actively" wiggling left and right.
The new one has no connection to the struggle movement. Just press Space like the rest of the game. Sadly this is incredibly boring imo.

Why do you think you're entitled to a faster escape because you can hit easy skill checks? If killer picks you up, he should be able to hook you assuming he's not going for a hook super far away. Also, new Boil Over is extremely annoying.

In part, I’m right with the author, pulling out 1 second earlier was more interesting, at the beginning I didn’t enthusiastically accept this idea, but after playing for the survivors, I realized that it’s difficult and not so strong, and it doesn’t feel like killers at all, everything seems to be the same, I was afraid that they would break out straight 4-5 seconds earlier, but 1 second does not always play a role.

I would rather it be the 1 second extra to wiggle out, than current with Boil Over where controller players cannot control their character at all.

This.
As a killer, I hardly notice the effects on Boil Over, and what irks me the most is a lot of content creators making videos about this buff like it was that big of a difference.
As a killer, it is no challenge for me. As a survivor, how the wiggle bar decreases with each check, favours a more accesible approach to difficulty, and that removes a lot of player agency. I feel like a lot of players who argue that survivors should not be able to escape the killer's grasp, are salty, because they probably were affected the most by the previous difficulty.
Personally, I feel like the whole game experience should carefully veer towards balancing gameplay, and the wiggle mechanic is what allows for that intense, 'tug-of'war'. At least I enjoyed it. I want the game to be more difficult for both sides, because, in the end, it's all a game to The Entity.
Isn't it?

Yeah one wiggled from me also as 2 people came to take hits and one went down I did carry him from pretty far away too. It seems now taking hits or using sabo builds is not worth it.

Yes, it is. I had seen clips during the beta testing, and they made it seem like it was this drastic change which would make wiggling absolutely disorienting for killers, and it's really not. You can still maneauver if you know what you're doing, and since skill checks no longer add to the wiggle bar, you're pretty much 'sol' if there's not much between you and the hook.
I don't know of any other posts, except what I wrote. I said it is less likier to escape the killer's grasp -- I didn't say it was impossible.
I am perfectly fine with with it being a rare chance, but the changes remove a lot of mechanical agency one has as a survivor. The wiggle ticker no longer moving from side to side, but instead, progressively decreasing its size, does not add anything to difficulty in terms of balancing. Instead, it removes the progress bonus from skill checks, and changes the physical and visual effect of the wiggle bar in a way that sort of takes away the impact of getting a successful skill check, like you're not really doing anything, but occasionally, you're hitting some skill checks.

It became impossible to escape from the shoulder even using all the perks for shoulder progress. It seems to me that the problem is that with the updates they made the map smaller, but the hooks remained at the same level, and it happens that it doesn’t hurt for the killer to simply turn 2 meters to the left to hang the survivor.
You need to buff the sabotage perk on the survivors and remove some of the hooks.
This should fix this issue
