Faking hit can be a Good Idea or not?
During one of my games, I narrowly avoided knocking down the freshly unhooked survivor by hitting the tree next to it, when I was not aiming at him.
Thereupon, pursuing the second, sticking me to his neck so much that he could hear my breathing, he launched his DH, before ending up on the ground because he failed
...I was wondering, the killer has the possibility of striking immediately, of extending his blow by holding down the left click... But why wouldn't the killer have the possibility of "Faking" the attack? Like, he raises his arm to the sky as if he's going to strike before canceling it, just to make the survivors throw their DH more in a panic, or just scare them?
Or is it a bad idea?

Need the For Honor fake hit button for the Knight.

If you want to bait dead hard just don't swing asap, a missed hit can give the surv time to vault or throw a pallet.
A lot of DH users will run at you to try and bait you to swing. Others will do it in response to lunges. If you get that tiny bit closer so you can do a standard hit then it's very very hard to land the DH. I do it all the time. Made someone ragequit the other day because of it.
They teabagged after a vault. Tried to flashblind after predropping a pallet into my lightborn. Then they were trapped on open ground. And I KNEW somehow they'd be running DH. Got right up behind them waiting 1 second and sure enough. *dab* *slash* *scream* *single nod* *winks out of existence* 🤣

I know that, but it's not what I want to mean, sometimes, I got the meme like, the big guy looking at the tiny gremlins who do everything, like it can't be calm
So you are here, looking on the ground the survivor who just turn around you and smack, you slap his face after he tried the DH
What I want to mean is like, you can faking a probable attack, just to bait survivor, with or without DS, just for pushing her to make a new mistake

Idk seems hit and miss. Missing an attack just gives them more time to reach a pallet or vault.

But the fake would take longer to "recover" from.... Seems BHVRish
Like look at Huntress... takes one of her hatches raises it above her head then puts it away while still in the hatchet ready movement speed and can't swing for a second (but it feels like forever)

While this is technically true, if you can get someone to burn their DH on a miss swing there are some advantages.
1. Missed attack cooldown is shorter than hit cooldown.
2. No on hit speedboost.
3. On a missed attack you retain bloodlustso you can mindgame/bruteforce the loop if they drop, or have a better chance to catch them if the try to go to another pallet.

Or you can just mindgame the DH. Don't need to swing to make someone use it.

As soon as I know someone has DH, I often quickly move my mouse up to fake an attack. The DH user usually hits it and I swing once the animation is over; if they don't activate DH I just quick hit them. Quite often you avoid their DH that way; using it to ensure they make it past a pallet, etc notwithstanding.
