Taking game hostage is problematic

I have been playing Huntress recently and 2 survivors have decided to take the game hostage because another two were dead. Time it has taken to find them was longer than 25 minutes so finally I had to quit the mach giving them free win. It should not be survivors' objective to do nothing but hiding and winning for free.

This is apparently reportable, but you have to go through the tedious process of recording the game and then reporting and then hope that the offending players will be punished which is a big “maybe”.

This is incredibly frustrating because the devs are putting all the burden on the players to address the problem rather than just fixing their game. There is an easy solution that can be included as part of the game mechanics: if survivors as a team don’t touch gens for a certain period of time, start revealing locations to killer.

The solution would be easy, survivor that in this situation don't work on gens for uninterrupted 10 secs in 2 minutes get crows, for example. Numbers could be tweaked but if the survivor cease all intention of progressing the game, then they should get revealed.

They should put in a basekit Whispers that activates if the killer hasn't interacted with survivors for 90 seconds. If the killer isn't interacting with survivors for 90 seconds that means gens should be flying and match will be over soon. Basekit Whispers after 90 seconds of not killer interaction with survivors would only be useful in those situations where survivors are hiding and avoiding crows while not doing anything to progress the game.

That's why after a certain amount of time crows swarm survivors that stand still without progressing the game or hide in lockers. Can't imagine how anyone could possibly find a way to avoid this.

It's not like you could simply walk a few steps in a secluded area of the map.... Wait a minute!

if a survivor isnt doing anything to progress the game, and not within 30m of the killer for 20 secs, their aura should be revealed. that way people cant just hide in these massive maps for ages and take the game hostage

With concern for specific numbers and benchmarks, I actually like several suggestions on this thread.

Too bad we won't see them.

In a case like this, I don't always assume that they are just trying to draw things out...they just want to try and finish the match and escape, most of the time. On the Survivor side when this happens, the other player and I will usually be in cahoots, trying to get the killer to chase one of us for long enough to get a gen started, etc, or just try to make something happen. On the Killer side, I'll try and get the last two to farm a bit with me. And if they'll each give me two hooks as part of that, they can start their gen(s) and hit the road.
