Survivor Tips / How to improve chase?

I have been playing DBD frequently since Knight's release. I typically play with my duo, or a 3 man swf. The only problem is, my swf has me beat in hours and in all honesty, skill. This causes me to get tunneled out due to being the weaker link. While I understand, it's quite frustrating when trying to play with my friends. My problem is I choke during chase, I have a good start but I easily fluster and make sudden (dumb) decisions. Therefore I usually benefit most from using DH, however I'm awfully bored of depending on it. It makes chases way easier for me, and forgives me for being silly during chase but I don't wanna depend on it, and I personally find it boring to run. That being said, I have no idea what other perk builds may be beneficial for me. Do you guys have any recommendations? Or maybe how to survive chases better? The obvious answer is "git good" I know, I'm a slower learner. I just wonder if there's any tips or builds that can give me a headstart and maybe improve my games.

Just run Windows of Opportunity and you'll just play the chases pretty automatically. Seen others use it and i kept thinking they're like some god at remembering tile placements but then i see the WoO and go "ah of course."

And i guess just use Lithe instead if the parry button is getting boring.

If you have a friend and want to practice run window of opportunity and go into a kyf; try to last as long as possible against them. Maybe with them playing as a killer, you struggle against figuring out how the killer works and plays genuinely does help.

It is what I do, and it really helps me to understand better certain killers that I don't really play against often or struggle against and is quite fun, but if you don't really have friends that want to do kyf just using windows of opportunity practicing tips and tricks from your friends because I am sure they would be willing to help you improve chases, like maybe from the best "looper" of your team.

It may take a while, but I'm sure you will get the hang of it. I could give you more tips and tricks, but it's way better to learn it visually than just to read it out, so I hope it helps.

Though none of this works, here is a visual guide on how to play better as survivor, it may be a bit complicated in some aspects, but I hope you learn some tips and tricks from it.

First tip: you have to go slow to go fast. Slow down. You can out-position a killer, but you're not going to match them speed vs speed. Make sure you have a good idea of where the killer is before you charge ahead at a loop. Get in the habit of moving your camera in chase and get comfortable with running forward while looking backwards.

Second: Positioning. Here's a secret. You don't have to be great in a chase to be a decent survivor. But you do have to understand the things that throw games. Always be thinking about which gens are being worked on and which gens need to get done. You need to run away from the gens that need to get done, especially if it's a 3 gen cluster. It is always, always better to have a quick chase and die away from the gens. Ideally, it's a longer chase, but sometimes you just need to run to a corner to make sure you can't be hooked in a bad spot for the rest of the team. A lot of survivor gameplay is about creating space for your teammates to complete objectives. Survivors at every MMR level absolutely struggle with that concept.

Third: this kind of goes along with number 2, but set yourself up for success by pre-positioning for a good chase. Don't give the killer a free hit because you wanted an extra 2% on a gen. You set yourself up for a bad chase when you do that. Get to a safe spot so you can safely play a tile when the TR is getting louder. The gens go faster when 3 people can do them freely, not because one person got an extra 2-5%.
