BHVR does something about these players, BHVR does something about the posts, or the community changes for the better.

There's not -that- much BHVR can really do. There's always gonna be people who DC or kill themselves on hook because of certain killers/maps/perks/addons/they went down too fast. Likewise there's always gonna be people who are douches to other players after the game.
They could increase DC penalties, which I think they should do, but that won't stop many cases. They could also take abusive comments in endgame chat more seriously, though that wouldn't have done anything in this case either.

The easy solution is to not play Blight then, right? Maybe play basement Bubba instead. I bet they'd really appreciate that.

Probably the posts, really wouldn't surprise me if they over look the core issue and just do the quick fix.
They can do the following:
1. Make anonymous mode make your profile not be clickable. I shouldn't have to deal with false reports and harassing messages. Players can use the ingame report if theres an issue in game.
2. Increase ban times like you said, though this never does much if it doesnt carry over a longer period of time.
3.linked to bans but mark players that DC/suicide early on in the system so those players will be matched together so people who do want to play never have to deal with it

It's just entitlement, and people will continue to be entitled and make up excuses for it because it gets listened to
