Another killer perk gutted, Dead Hard still broken af
Eruption is dead. This balance team cannot fathom how to make a perk balanced without killing it entirely, thana, iron will, and now eruption. Cant have one broken thing for even year before its straight up removed.
Need I remind you, old dead hard was in the game for 5 years? While old pain res (and painres+dms) were only very very powerful for six months. Now eruption suffers a worse fate, being condemned to mediocrity.
Is it that hard to take community suggestions? SO many people were saying to just make it a genblocking perk, without info. Now its just CoB but worse on so many levels. Not saying it didnt need nerfs, it absolutely did. But there was a clear cut way to make it a viable perk without making it an unfair one, and they ignored it.
Meanwhile the survivor meta has barely changed for like, i wanna say 3 years? Meta shakeup was almost there with the dead hard nerf, but now its just stronger on a successful use. Then ofc they buffed nurse, because their just that smart.
Not to mention how badly balance has been handled in the past. Not even including on launch fiascos like BNPs, we have the gen kick meta and the knight (idk about you but i kind of enjoy looping, thanks) making this game so boring right now.
pls devs if you reading this, stop killing perks just because their meta... do better, its called balance not slaughter it and move on.

I knew this was gonna happen. I guess they don’t read these posts since many of us called for it to be nerfed, and not killed. Undying’s probably a perfect example of a perk nerfed without being killed, yet they just keep slaughtering all these other perks. Scared to see what they have in store next.

Changing any gen regression perk from a flat percentage down to current percentage will always kill that perk. Nobody is using Pop anymore except people who don't realize what the 6.0 change nerfed.
The goal of the 6.0 patch was to make killer "suck less". Well now killer is in the worst state I can remember since pallet looping was born and infinite loops were still in the game ~September 2016.
I might log in for a daily login bonus but I won't be playing killer anytime soon.

One of the biggest gripes with DBD has always been that playing killer feels like some kind of afterthought. Survivor feels good for the most part. The game is in your favor unless you're playing Blight/Nurse once you get to a certain skill level.
The devs are opening the door to let another game steal players.

If they keep overnerfing meta perks, nothing is gona change. All you do is just switch one meta for a new meta. Buff previously weak perk, totaly destroy previous meta perk = new meta. Repeat.
How about trying to balance them in a way that they are still usefull and good, but not dominating and have some other perks to compete with each other. There are only 4 perks max. anyway. Eruption is trash. It's not great, situational, aura reading perk, not a gen protecting perk at all since it doesn't stop anyone from doing that gen and the regress is a joke.

Current DH is not broken.

care to explain why it's not? Actually it's even more strong than before (deathslinger and legion are the only exceptions of killers that can counter this perk)

Lets compare Eruption for a moment with Dead Hard.
Both most popular perks? ✔️
Both are very strong perks? ✔️
Both are frustraiting, annoying to deal with? ✔️
Both sides are sick of seeing this perk in every game? ✔️
All ✔️ checks done. It's only fair for DH to go as well since Eruption got nuked to Oblivion.

Unless of a few scenarios falling for a DH is literally a skill issue. Sorry but thats the truth. It's one of the perks with the biggest amount of counterplay while Eruption had 0 counterplay for soloQ survivors. The only scenarios where DH is truly unfair is against insta down powers like the Chainsaw powers. DH should never tank through that. Aside from that you can counter DH at every instance. Yes even at pallets. Survivors can't throw pallets while in the DH animation and the animation goes longer than the endurance status effect. So no DH is not stupidly unfair and unhealthy for the game as you claim it is. Would I still like to see changes to it? Yes, because it's being overused. If BHVR's balancing philosophy is to nerf perks that have a high usage rate then they shouldn't make an exception for DH.

as it should!
a perk SHOULD NOT give you easy wins.
all survivor perks require skill. Not Otz even said so.
you can get mind gamed with your Dead Hard.
And if a KiLLaH cant figure out how to wait out dead hard... i mean... it's all about skill.
KiLLaH MaiNz want zer0 skill involved to 4k and that's not fair at all.
i've seen players say eruption should be basekit... WHAT IN TEH WORLD?

As it should!
A single perk should not give players an easy win.
You bring up DEAD HARD.
Uh... Dead Hard is easily countered. WAIT FOR IT.
What's the counter for Eruption? Just not do gens??
A few weeks ago, players were saying ERUPTION should be basekit... WHAT IN THE WORLD?
I'm tired of players wanting easy 4Ks. It doesn't make sense at all.

You often don't even have to wait it out. They will sometimes spin around you to make you respect it. Just wait until you are close enough and make a short attack. Either they predict it right or they want to keep greeding the E button and you get the down. It's so ridiculous that content creators like Otz are actually giving those survivors what they want by just never attacking the survivor until they are at the pallet. Like at this point it's his own fault by letting it happen.

The animation is not half a second long so you still have a small (not frame perfect) time window to get the down. I might have been snarky on this one you are not a bad player if you cannot time it well every time, I just have no problem with timing it. It is still somewhat of a skill issue because if you are skilled enough you will have less problems getting the down at pallets (though there is no problem in advocating making the animation longer so it's easier to counter). Many killer powers are designed to damage only one health state. So it's only fair if DH can counter them even if the killer can't prevent them from not getting DH value after they used their power. Nowadays you need to be able to play around this perk and with some of the killers power you listed you can bait out their DH: Blink precise and close to survivors as Nurse they will most likely panic then use your second blink for the hit, you can never predict a hit against a good Spirit so DH is out of question, Wraith can bodyblock safety tiles to force them to run in the open and in the open it's easy to bait it out (also Wraith is a master of catching up so DH doesn't hurt him as much as other killers), Demogorgon can easily bait it out also if they are waiting at a tile like a window to make a shred so they can DH just come closer to them and let them make a decision (either they vault and they are screwed or they decide to hold w and you can easily wait it out), countering PH punishment of the damned with DH requires good reacion timing and it's incredibly easy to bait it out with him just hold your M2 and make them respect you. From all killers you listed Pig, Wesker, Sadako and Huntress really suffer from DH. Maybe Wraith as well but like I mentioned he recovers faster than most killers.
Yes DH is powerful but in most situations it requires precise timing and it's easy to counter. I can understand your point you make but the purpose of the perk is precisely to reward survivors for timing it correctly. If you see that as problematic then it's fine. But I just think that DH is not that big of a deal.

-"Unless of a few scenarios falling for a DH is literally a skill issue. Sorry but thats the truth."
By saying this you show that you either lack a deep level of game understanding or you just want it to be true. Where does what you say not happen?
Nurse blinks to a survivor and the survivor uses DH. What was the Nurse supposed to do - not swing? They have a limited time frame to use the power to get anything. The same goes for Blight.
The same setup happens with every killer at a pallet. You can DH as you go through it and the killer can't do anything. DH will only not save you if the spacing is wrong.
Remember how old DH worked where it shunted you in a direction? And that could put you out of position? The new DH would only be fair if there were a ~2 second delay after you use it where you can't vault or throw a pallet. Being able to do either of those things lets you get ~30+ seconds in a chase. Compare to Sprint or Lithe which usually only gives you a few seconds in a worst case scenario and more like 12-15 in best case.

Let me just:
* Tap the gen to bait out Eruption.
* Mind game the gen so it wastes Eruption.
* Run perks to give the gen exhaustion, so I don't have to worry if it's got Eruption.
* Maybe the gen will make a mistake so that having Eruption doesn't matter.
* The gen is caught in a dead zone with no pallets in sight, so it doesn't matter if it has Eruption.
* Have awful latency, so the gen can be exhausted on the ground. It'll be like Eruption doesn't even exist, even if timed correctly to you.
* Maybe the gen is fully healed and Eruption isn't even possible.
* Make the gen exposed so we can skip Eruption entirely.

It sure seems like the dev team go out of their way to not incorporate specific community feedback into their changes. It’s like they’re afraid that if they just take a community suggestion and put it into the game that they’ll be viewed as unnecessary resource, so they have to come up with their own idea for how to change a perk to justify their position. I really have no other explanation for why this happens so frequently.

Ironic lol don't we have to predict the killers near instant swing to time dead hard? If we have to do jt then why cant you wait 0.5 seconds????

Nurse can’t do anything? She can just catch up again even after swinging into dead hard. Dead hard is needed against nurse, she’s ending chases too quickly.

To be fair, most perk suggestions are very biased one way or another, and while some people just want to keep the balance , more people want an advantage, and i very much understand why you dont listen to suggestions on this forum.
