one survivor buff after another

Survivor HUD and perk buffs

killers getting nerfed relentlessly. But you dont see them getting a fov slider or buffing bad perks (predator, beast of prey, ..more)

quit this nonsense

I mean is CoH still oppressive? Kinda have to respectfully disagree on that one.

I am all for an FoV slider and accessibility options in general. But in this case especially with the visual TR, it’s not one sided over another.

no one reasonably argued that colorblind settings were in any way a killer buff or killer sided feature even though let’s be honest, it had a significantly bigger effect for killers

  • Mooks
    Mooks Member Posts: 14,792

no, since killers also get buffs and other accessibility settings eg colorblind mode. And FoV slider might still come in the future - it’s not ruled out.

you just want them to be one sided and victimize the other side while disregarding anything they do for that side

I don't think they should be expected to arbitrarily tack on "and of course we're in the planning/discussion stage for [x side] changes too" every single time they discuss a change they're far enough along to actually start teasing. I especially don't think that them not doing that should be considered fair reason to start accusing them of horrendous bias and misconduct.

Killers got zero killer-exclusive accessibility changes, and zero quality of life changes. Killers don't get quality of life improvements. They get generic number buffs, that raise the kill rate, but don't improve the player experience at all.

It's not every single time. We've been going over a full entire year of "let's talk about survivors quality of life improvements and accessibility improvements, but we refuse to say anything at all about killers"

And, what do you think would happen if they would upset 80% of playerbase? Those players are leaving the game, or convert to be killer main.

Will you queue to play survivor instead of killer after killer buffs, to be punching bag for killer mains?

I kinda feel like the various killer buffs and additions from recent patches combined with the game being in the healthiest spot it's ever been for killers disproves that all on its own.

    This is overdramatic.

I love how killers complain about survivors getting "buffed" we got a UI change that let us see what other teammates are doing. I'd hardly call that a buff.

Survivors unlike killers cannot stack perks to give us an advantage. We get 1 exhaustion perk and have to make the best of a build we can with the rest. Killers meanwhile stack gen regression or aura reading that has little to no cooldown when combined with your other perks. So how is it so hard to win a game? I regularly get 3ks with no issue using only nowhere to hide + call of brine.

We can start with 6.1.0. Not everything in that patch was a success, but a combination of small basekit + moderate perk buffs and - more importantly - pretty noticeable survivor perk nerfs put killer in a better spot. Sometime after that, if my memory serves (though I do get the order of these changes mixed up sometimes), we had the combination Ghostface and Legion buffs, and I'm sure I don't need to explain how two killers being put in significantly more viable spots from good basekit changes and excellent addon overhauls is a benefit to the killer role. We also had Project W, which was less of a buff and more a great addition, because Wesker is the best killer released since Blight. While Dredge wasn't quite as strong, it's still viable and enjoyable to play, so there's that. Sadako was weak, but she came with three very solid and dependable perks that each can find a good niche on a variety of killers.

I'm sure there's more that I'm just not remembering off the top of my head, but to claim that killers never get appreciable buffs/additions that actually impact the game is just wrong. It's misguided at best, cherrypicking at worst.

Every time I start dbd I have 100% Killer. After the introduction of the BP Bonus for playing the side with less Players. I only had 100% Killer after 11pm, but now I have nearly allways 100% Killers. When do the devs finally buff KIllers so playing Killer is fun again and no sweat fest every round.

I have plenty of fun playing killer idk why you have so much trouble. Made some great friends playing killer too. The issue is that you're taking the game too seriously. Treat the game as it is A PARTY GAME. It's supposed to be a fun time. If you aren't having fun playing it maybe either try playing survivor and see the pain they go through while trying to make some friends or play something else.

True. A good change for Killers (I my in my opinion) would be an early game slowndown. Sometimes as Killer the game feels like a loss in the fist minute of the game. If all survivors spawn on diff gens and the map is very big you can lose two gens bevor you can even reach them.

If for exaple all the gens get blockt for 20 to 30 seconds, that would give the Killer time to reach a survivor. btw I think the gens are geting unblockt after the Killer get a hit or into a chase. That would give weaker Killers like Trapper/Hag/Myers time to setup or get out of tier one and on the otherside you dont need to wait the 20 to 30 secons to start a gen if the killer is Nurse or blight.

I mean if you play over and over again aginst sweaty survivors and you loss all the time, because you play like you are in a Party game, you want to win as well and play more sweaty and what I meant was corrent gen kick meta is very unfun to play and to play against, but you need to play gen kick meta on waker killers to not get complettly destroyed.

If Erruption get nerft witheout any survivor nurfs. Lowerer tier killers will not be playeble on mid to high mmr. That means for me if I as the Killer want any kills or something I have to play Nurse/Blight and thats a shame, because I really like to play Killers like Trapper/Sadako ...

Maybe it's because of the miserable experience called soloQ. But no, helping solo players that have no means to communicate is such nonsense as you state. You can't nerf survivor if soloQ stays the way it is right now or you are going to make most soloQ players quit

"Certainly you aren't refering to last July when small numerical adjustments had no improving impact in any significant way."

Why are you discrediting these compounding buffs? Those are subtle, but hugely impactful. What are you expecting for killer buffs? Survivors get a hookstate removed? A sixth gen added?

They can't blindly mega-buff killers, they have to keep balance in mind.

    "Healtiest spot"

Generators can be done in 30 seconds

Healing speed can be reduced to 2 seconds

Almost every map is garbage for killers, god pallet linked to a vault to another god pallet (hello Decimated Borgo and Gared on Joy !)

M1 Killers are almost a joke right now, trapper ?Twins ? sadako ? freddy ? clown ? Sure fre killers stand out from the misery but others are just meh with no sign to a rework or fix

Survivors has 3 health state, basekit BT, soon they will receive also basekit unbreakable, what else ?Basekit DS why not

The majority of killer's perks are pure gargabe but they are going to fix a survivor perk because..reasons

Yep, the game is in the healtiest spot for a survivor indeed and dev are fully aware of what is healthy or not, in fact BNP, PT, Hyperfocus, CoH and many other healty perks for the survivors are untouched, maps are so balanced you can loop a killers for days and that's so healty. They also have reworked Eyre and now you can have 5 pallets spawn in 4 adiacent tiles , indeed so healthy.

And yeah, it's so healty right now that a lot of those unhealthy, ungrateful, moronic killers are just asking to have a slight adjustment to the requests they are making, like Corrupt Intervention as Basekit, Fov slider, have a cap of gen repairs speed but, who cares ? as long in the low mmr killers have an high kill ration it's fine and healthy

"Generators can be done in 30 seconds

Healing speed can be reduced to 2 seconds"

And survivors can die in under two minutes. What's your point?

Do you know how many conditions need to be stacked on each other to get those numbers? You're not getting thirty second gens against you. You're not getting two second healing against you.

  • Blinckx
    Blinckx Member Posts: 426

One survivor can die in 2 minutes, the other three are already escaped the exit gate

And yes i have been faced those "insane condition" you mentioned, probably because i'm out the kindergaden low level MMR and i play usually vs competent sfw or similar players ? And, since those thing ARE possibile, even is difficult i can give you that, that mean they should prevent those condtion to happen. But again, hey it's healthy for the survivors so who care right ?

Kinda fun you didn't mention the other problems i have listed like maps or killers perks being useless or almost every m1 killers being a joke

But enjoy your healthy game, probably they will add killer bot in live game, so they get rid of the toxic killer player once for all

  • Firellius
    Firellius Member Posts: 4,356

"And, since those thing ARE possibile, even is difficult i can give you that, that mean they should prevent those condtion to happen."

Why? You want two survivors healing a third while they're all injured, and both healers have botany, DM, one is the obsession while the killer has dying light, and has we'll make it active due to recent unhook, with all of that stacked, to just not get value out of any of that because... what, exactly?

These aren't efficient builds, but you get your knickers in a twist because when you cut out all of the context, on paper, it looks OP. I can guarantee you: it isn't.

If you're complaining about a guy getting a single two second heal off in one of fifty matches, you have no real issues to complain about.

So, you're obviously spinning a lot more out of my statement than I actually said, but for the record, yes. This is the healthiest spot the game has ever been for killers. That statement doesn't imply there are no problems, you'd have to read it in pretty bad faith to say that it does, it just means that the game used to be worse.

Healing speeds and map design are a problem. Some of the perks you listed (not all, PT being on there is a massive stretch) are a problem. Nowhere in my post did I imply otherwise.

There are also things on the killer side that are still problems, too. Tombstone Piece is still in the game, Leatherface camping is still uncounterable, Blight still has his busted addons, and so on and so forth. The game still having problems doesn't mean it hasn't improved.

This happened last year when they made significant changes which were seen as killer sided I think this was driven by the lack of people playing killer, the reason the bonus system was introduced, there is a thread on here on that very subject quoting that the bonus is almost always for killer in some regions,I have seen this personally of late.

Improved with so many problem and ongoing issues is not healthier, is somehow better but is far from being good and playable and fun and healty

Map, gen speed, health status and more are big concern and are no nead to being addressed. For how long maps have been in this status ? How long a lot of people have complained about loops and vaults and pallet spawn ? have they have been fixed ?No, not at all , they released new map with the same problem because...well it's a killer problem not a survivor problem. If pallets were a survivor problem they would fix in a month.

Sure ONE addon on a subpar killer like Mayers is the same as BNP or a single meme mechanic like camping bubba is the same ad DH,CoH and other stuff indeed. You know what ? Due this healthy game, people will face more and more blight and wesker until they are nerfed into oblivion like Freddy and Billy.

Problem ARE bigger on the killer side but nothing has been done to solve them

I have played this game since release on various platforms and while I agree with your sentiment of the game being in a good place compared to as it was on release and successive updates,I think that will be lost on killer mains who perceive in my view incorrectly that recent buffs have been survivor sided and nerfs killer focused, the evidence is easily found and used in this argument with the counter being somewhat weak in there perception,I can see it from both sides as I play both sides, the danger is there is a growing feeling of disquiet and resentment within the killer community and my fear is they will leave or switch to survivor, putting us back to the position early last year of insufferable queue times as survivor or low skill based killers in games creating a luck lustre experience.

In my view the devs need to be seen to at least be throwing a bone to these players.I had this very argument on Twitter and a Nurse killer main highlighted her recent nerf and stated the only killer in his mind to receive a recent buff was and I’m quoting “a useless but well publicised buff to Trapper who is rarely played” another retweeted this with the quote “The supposed buff for trapper was like adding a third wheel to a broken bicycle”.It’s hard to argue back when there gripes appear to go unanswered, and so the saga continues.🙄

  • Blinckx
    Blinckx Member Posts: 426

And that's exactly what happened to me, i have left the game and i am ( was ) a killer main with 1600 hours of gameplay and i no interest to play it again anymore as long those things i have said are fixed

But, when in the Developer update you see

"Visual Update of red forest" while being one of the biggest map and need a rework but who care, is not a survivor problem let's just update the visual not the playability for killer, when you see a massive insane nerf to Eruption ( and if we are honest, everyone have to agree that nerf was INSAME) but it's a killer perks so who care and..A BUFF to a single survivor perk with no reason at all well yeah i don't care anymore. A new killer is coming soon ? Oh wow let me guess another broken m1 killer with subpark perk ?Because, if not, it will nerfed into hell like Freddy and Billy or they simply forgot that killer is in game like Twins (btw, regard Twins, in the last PTB there was a bug for Twins, and EVERYONE asked to leave that "bug" in the game because was a good thing for Twins, do they dev listen to us ? of course not !)

  • Wampa1
    Wampa1 Member Posts: 175

I agree it appears broken killers get forgotten and strong killers get nerfed tbh you made your point when you mentioned the twins,I forgot they even existed. And yes why add a new killer when the broken ones need reworking a cynical mind might say revenue…

what nerfs? the only thing theyve nerfed for killers in the past 6 months is eruption (which lets face it, was a problem)

  • Rudjohns
    Rudjohns Member Posts: 2,098

I agree, killers need some buffs

-Decrease hooks from 3 to 2 to kill survivors

    -green mori basekit

-Increase number of gens to be complete from 5 to 7 out of 8 gens total

    -Remove 1 exit gate

-Decrease the size of all maps by 50 meters

I am completely and totally disregarding these as their net effect was zero. Just because the numbers changed, that doesnt mean gameplay was affected in any meaningful way. So yeah, that is not a buff.

Not saying it needs to be a mega-buff, I am saying that I need to be able to notice and I don't notice it. Therefor not a buff despite number fiddling.

  • Rulebreaker
    Rulebreaker Member Posts: 1,995

Just because you're stubborn enough to not notice it doesn't mean it isn't infact a buff.

Bhvr does not care about killers. I mean if you think about it its 4 survivors and only 1 killer or in other words 4 potential customers VS 1 potential customer.

I don't know any game other than dbd that buffs only onesided and/or nerfs onesided. Lol
