What I hope this chapter 27 brings to dbd?
A killer with unique power because lately a lot of killers are just copied from another killer already in the game, for example:
knight=artist
Sadako=Dredge
nurse=Wesker
but If he is not unique I don't mind as long as it is fun to play, like Wesker.
Some goofy as perks, for both killers and survivors, a good example: head on, franlin's,etc. These perks are not meta but you have good time messing around. No perks like see the gen aura or another info perk for killers.
I don't think it would be even possible to create a new aura perk since the perks that we currently have already cover everything.
See surv. aura when:
if opening locker, if surv. healing nearby, kick gen to reveal surv nearby, hook a surv to see far away, if surv unhooks, when a gen is completed, if surv hits great skillcheck, if surv destroys hex, if killer stomps boon, if surv. is close to dull totem, when the killer can't be blinded, when surv is in dying state.
I wouldn't mind perks that force you to hit skillchecks, makes it more interactive to both sides, but that is just my opinion.
What are yours expectations with this chapter?

I hope we get a new boon perk for survivors. There is still kre you can do with Boons that there can't only be four.

Okay, Sadako and Dredge, I get the similarities, but how on earth are Artist and Knight alike? They're wildly different!
New boon would be good, new scourgehook, new obsession perk could be interesting too!
I'd also like it if they incorporated glyphs into regular play through perks.
2 -
Glyphs in normal gameplay would be cool as well

I'm not interested in seeing more boon perks until they rework boons to work the same as Hexes. It's not fair that extremely strong boons like COH can be reapplied as often as necessary to as many boons as you want. It's also a little sus that if you have multiple boon perks, they all apply to the booned totem.

I just hope for a killer with a higher mechanical skill cap. We got one last year in Wesker. That last thing I want is another unga bunga hold M2 to zone or 3 gen killer.
2 -
I'm hoping for the 7 year anniversary, the devs address the health of their game and go to 2 killers, 2 survivors every year instead of 4 and 4.
i want more maps created with the current assets for The Decimated Borgo, Backwater Swamp, Forsaken Boneyard, and Grave of Glenvale realms.
2 -
Do you want more crappy maps? If anything, BHVR has proved they cannot make balanced maps and maps that don't break the game. I expected them to quickly make some changes to Borgo to make it more balanced, like changing the colour of scratch marks on that map.
The game is kept fresh with the addition of new killers quarterly. No one cares that much about a new survivor's skin, but good perks are cared about. It would be great if they could do so without all the bugs, but they eventually fix them. The bugs can be considered development debt; they know how they are releasing the character, for the most part, and understand what they need to do to get it to 100%. I bring this up because, just like in finance, a certain amount of debt can be considered healthy or even necessary; the same can be applied to development debt. If they waited until every chapter was 100% ready to release, you might only get one chapter a year. So, the development debt keeps the game fresh. Rarely are the bugs game-breaking.

Artist puts a crow you hold w to another loop, same with knight, he puts a guard you try to leave the loop. Knight is if Artist power could roam around.
0 -
Just cause they are countered in similar fashion doesnt mean they play the same way, not even close, Artist is a ranged killer, Knight sets up patrols he can use offensively or defensively.
And Nurse and Wesker? really? they are even less comparable, both have mobility, yes, but thats where the similarities end, both work completely different from one another.
1 -
nurse, 2 blinks can go through anything, ignores pallets.
Wesker, 2 dashes, can't go through obstacles, may ignore pallets.
That is literally the same concept, they are the same but with small tweaks. Same thing with knight and artist, dredge and sadako.
1 -
Sounds like someone who doesn't actually play killer.
4 -
So the only simularity is that their power has 2 uses before it recharges? And that it's a speedy dash foreward
I think people are very harsh when they say powers aren't unique anymore
With close to 30 killers you're bound to have some simularities between powers
Especially if you're stretching it like that
4 -
Wow the expert has appeared, what do you need, a screenshot ?
0 -
You are literally agreeing with me, I said same concept with some tweaks.
If the new killers with the same power didn't have those tweaks they would be like survivor, no gameplay change just the skin, besides Ace and Claudette, one has Iron will basekit and the other is a ninja in everymap except ormond
0 -
You're comparing killers from the perspective of "how to counter them" despite the fact that they actually play completely differently.
That screams "I'm a survivor main who has never played killer"
3 -
I'm agreeing that there are simularities
I'm disagreeing that it's a problem or even remotely realistic to ask for a completely new concept with the close to 30 killers we have
Sorry but saying artist=knight cause they both can put their power on loops to force the survivor away is to put it kindly silly
If the new killer is someone who can sent out skull drones will you dislike it cause it's simular to Viktor?
If Jason came to DbD will you be unhappy cause he's also a masked slasher like ghostface or myers?

Well sorry to dissapoint your impecable judgemental instinct but I have more killers unlocked than survivors

I would hate it If Jason ended up being a Trapper, not because he is a slasher, but because it would feel like you are paying for legendary skin for trapper and I also would hate If after buying the dlc bhvr nerfs him because of survivor complaints (old Freddy), I thought bhvr said it's not pay to win because nurse is free so why nerf the licenced characters. Wouldn't that be considered a deceptive practice to your customers?
About the new killer sending skull drones, if that his power, I think it would be more similar to nemesis zombies or like hag traps. I said in the first post I'm fine with recycled code powers as long as they are fun, but would be nice to have something new and hard to master in terms of gameplay. Something never seen before.

we don't have a hatch aura yet for killers. lol.
we don't have a crow aura perk for survivors yet lol.
also - i don't see wesker as nurse. i see him as different tbh.
knight and artist aren't the same? sadako dredge also aren't the same? how do you mean?
i want a snow woman - i posted about it a while ago.
i agree with goofy perks though. things like hiding in a chest or making the fog do weird things.
that'd be fun.
ive got a ton of opinions about what should be done to perks. however... i don't know if any one would agree with my opinions.

Based on the teaser: I'm hoping for a neat chase music

I was talking primarly to killer aura perks that's why I said ¨see survivor aura when: ¨
Those killers I mentioned have the same power but with some tweaks so they are not identical, I see dredge as free version to sadako, same thing but you don't have the condem part. Wesker is the balanced version of Nurse, you can hit the survivor on first or second dash but you have to aim, you still follow the core game mechanics, obstacles, pallets, loops. Knight is if Artist crows were able to patrol the area and became mele.
¨ive got a ton of opinions about what should be done to perks. however... i don't know if any one would agree with my opinions.¨
Why not share something, would love to hear, It's interesting to see different point of view.
For example I would want Coup de Grace to give stacks when hooking a survivor instead of losing gens

i've made posts. they never get looked at because of the eruption and knight posts being so sensational.
deadhard should be a 1 use perk like decisive strike and deliverance that disables on successfully taking a hit.
decisive strike shouldnt require a skill check.
breakdown's duration shouldn't last more than sabotage.
pig's traps shouldn't require a generator to start counting down.
trapper's traps should spawn open under pallets, beside generators, and next to vaults automatically at the start of the match.
totems shouldn't be interactive at the start of the match - killers should have time to set up defenses. perhaps first gen or a set timer before cleanses and boons can be activated.
hatch keys need a rework. or should become a perk like left behind.
back to back blinds should be removed. the screen should have to clear up a bit before a second blind can be initiated.
eruption should do something other than break generators. jolt (the demogorgon free use perk) already does this and requires less interaction/gen kicking.
and a ton more - but that's enough for an example.

I would make dead hard similar to wglf stacks, to make it more altruistic and you need to work hard to get it like Mettle of man
agree with decisive skillcheck removal nad pig traps countdown but only after getting unhooked not when pig puts the trap on
With the trapper I don't know because I usually got value out of far away trap that I didn't bother going bacause I had the iridescent trap reset addon, What I would want for him is more dinamic power, something like Freddy snares or a summoning ability, and remove the stupid if trap too close survivor can fast vault if a little bit far away survivor can slow vault
Totally agree with totems, how ######### totem spawns are is the sole reason I stopped using hex perks besides noed because nobody does totem unless for booning
0 -
well... at least it's not as controversial as i thought.
0 -
Why stop there...
Hag and Trapper
Hillbilly and Bubba
Mickey and Ghostface
Point being this happens more often then just recently

High skill cap killer without re-used powers with a new skin thrown on it. It makes sense in terms of saving time and money but lots of stuff feels recycled.
High skill cap killers are good design. They allow high mmr killers to be competitive with the killer but it isn't overtuned for lower tiers of players as those killers aren't good enough to utilize that extra strength.
