C'mon guys, i survived the killer role in 2018-2019, so you will definitely survive a perk change.
Some people didn't realize how good they got with modern DBD.
All these complaints because of the eruption nerf which is definitely not a healthy perk for the game, everyone with 2 neurons knows this and if you are a person who depends on a specific perk to win, sorry to inform you and seem a little rude but you are bad. You wouldn't last 1 minute in the infinite of old maps and I brought facts.
Me and a few other old players survived things that you newbie killer players would never endure, so stop crying over a perk and GET GUD.
" But BHVR nerfed eruption and left DH as it is"
I do not care!!!!!!!!!
Sorry guys, today I have a tolerance of 0.

Agreed. Same boat lmao

They nerfed the ten best killer perks over a very short period of time, while at the same time buffing the two best survivor perks. Did they nerf survivor perks too? Sure. Four of them. Amid an ocean of survivor perk buffs.
And, hilariously, of the killer perks that they buffed, they turn around and nerf them to be worse than they started shortly thereafter because survivors complained.
It keeps happening.
The issue isn't "they nerfed Eruption, boo hoo hoo."
It's "this keeps happening any time enough survivors complain, but issues killers have had with survivor perks keep falling on deaf ears."
And it feels like the folks in charge don't care. Which is a crummy headspace to be in for a game that you want to enjoy but keeps getting rebalanced against you, time and time again.

Agreed I couldn't even play Killer during that timeline, it was extremely hard, the game was very survivor sided back then

It's not a problem that they are nerfing Eruption. The problem is how they are nerfing it. It will be meh perk that almost no one will use, like more than half the other killer perks. That's not how you balance perks. It's like either it is OP or it is bad.
2 -
The problem isnt that they nerfed Eruption, is that they completely gutted the perk and its borderline useless now, which also happened to Pop and Ruin.
Meanwhile DH remains an obnoxious perk to deal with.
2 -
The alternative was that they do a little nerf on it, and still everyone running it

I agree, honestly I've never even used eruption before. Don't have nemesis or any of his perks, but I still think the way they're nerfing it is lame. It needed to be nerfed for sure, it was a very unhealthy perk for the game and a lot and I mean a LOT of killer players replied on it, but it didn't need to be gutted. Now it's just really bad, I wouldn't call it useless it's just really bad now.

Ome thing I don't get is the people saying that DH was buffed... Like I'm sorry Dead Hard 4 Distance was like 6 months ago there is no way you've all forgotten the complete and utter uncounterable E to Outplay bullshit we all put up with for years.
Though tbh playing on Garden of Joy reminds me of 2017/2018 Groaning Storehouse in the worst possible way 🕳️👩🏻🦯

This is the part that gets me too. 😂 “DH gOt bUfFeD” There was quite literally NOTHING you could do when they used it for distance.

Yeah I remember the cheering on this forum when DH got nerfed mid-2022. Lots of people were saying it's a dead perk and how thrilled they are. Somehow it's now suddenly become even more powerful?
1 -
I don't think there's that many of us left honestly.
DBD has always been a revolving door of players, it's very rare to have people stick around, especially for 5-6 years.
I'd suspect that most people currently playing started playing DBD in 2021 or after.

Isnt the difference that "killer perks no one cant live without" get nerfed/guttered while BT got basekit?
Dont see other survivor players critizing survivors who want old DS back. Shouldnt they also git GUD instead?
It's actually nice youre good enough to not care a good perk gets nerfed but most players might be worse and need the good stuff to keep up.

Nerfing Eruption is definetly OK, but how they nerf it is just ridiculas. Make things worse is that killers don't have too many option to choose from. Old meta perks are all dead, the new ones except for Eruption are not good outside the last 3 gen situation. slow down perks are just not that strong and survivors keep getting speed up perks. solo gen times are increased to 90 sec and the time it takes to power the gate seems increased that much. Weak slow down, speed up still strong, those are the problems need to face against.

Reminds me of when Ruin was initially reworked in early 2020. People just love being dramatic

That's called getting carried by perks.
If a perk is letting you win against players that are better than you, then you shouldn't have it in the first place.
4 -
Isn't this almost every perk in the game though? I've lost track of the amount of times I would've been sacrificed if it weren't for adrenaline, or the amount of times a killer's pressure has been foiled by CoH. Equally there have been many games I would've lost as killer if I hadn't been using thana or discordance.
Like, honestly, if I went perkless and addonless as killer my MMR would hit rock bottom within a week and I haven't even been using eruption.

I don't get why people refuse to acknowledge that BHVR replaced one problem with another. The endurance effect didn't exist before the dead hard change, but you are implying killers should have predicted the future and complained about the endurance effect before it was added to the game.
Of course people complained about dead hard for distance, instead of the endurance effect, when the perk didn't have an endurance effect.
And the endurance effect is a buff in some scenarios because it tanks a hit instead of allowing attacks and powers to phase through the survivor, and the endurance effect is a buff in some scenarios because it gives the survivor a huge speed boost when it successfully triggers.

A perk saving you from a bad situation is one thing. A well-timed Adrenaline is certainly clutch but is anything but consistent.

the problem is also that Eruption was never really that good, it has barely changed ever since it was added and it only surfaced as a problem because devs made sure to kill basically all kinds of gen regression except gen kick perks which they additionally buffed to the absurd numbers so eruption fit perfectly into those builds, especially since it was additionally buffed.
so yet again devs created a problem and heroically solved everything but its roots.
3 -
Still, I don't agree with the sentiment of "if you can't win without it, you shouldn't have it".
Perks are there to help you win, that's their entire purpose (with the exception of No Mither). I'm not saying OP perks don't need to be looked at, lord knows Eruption needed toning down and some other perks still need to be looked at (one rhyming with shmead shmard).

If a perk is single-handedly carrying you, you should stop using it.
DH is fine.
1 -
Oh I have so much stuff to bring up. Remember old BNP and Syringes? That time was hell
0 -
They literally could DH to windows for free. I couldn't however cause Nemesis release was a whole pain on console

DH is the epitome of "if a perk is single-handedly carrying you, you should stop using it." Seriously, the amount of survivors who are lost without it is insane. The amount of DCs I get when I downed someone after frenzying because they were deep-wounded and couldn't use their extend chase button is unreal.
However, it's in the game and so we should feel free to use it, even if it's a crutch. It's still by far one of the strongest perks even after the rework so chances are it's going to remain meta for a long time.

That is a perfect analogy between GoJ and that caused version of Groaning...
Just, ewwwwwwwwww

Agree. A lot of players seem new to the game. I started playing the same day it launched on consoles, but I watched gameplay and kept up with news on the game before it even released on PC. Would've played day 1 on PC but didn't have a gaming PC at the time.
